Odaily reported, citing monitoring by Lookonchain, that a whale who previously lost about $3 million from going long on BTC has returned to trading after a 10-day interval. The latest on-chain activity again involved major crypto assets, but the trader’s direction changed after another unsuccessful BTC trade.
From a failed BTC short to an ETH long
According to the monitoring information, the whale attempted to short BTC today, but the trade failed to generate a profit and resulted in another loss of about $360,000. After that, the whale shifted to the ETH market and opened a 5x leveraged long position, buying 31,956 ETH with a position value of approximately $54.98 million.
At the time of the report, the whale had moved from a BTC-focused trade to an ETH long position. The confirmed figures in the report include the earlier loss of about $3 million from a BTC long, the latest loss of about $360,000 from the failed BTC short, and the newly opened ETH position’s leverage, token amount, and total position value.
