Whale.io has launched its $WHALE NFT collection on Solana, moving its native token rollout into a new pre-market phase before the upcoming Token Generation Event. The NFTs are structured as tradable digital cards, and each one contains a fixed amount of $WHALE locked on-chain and backed 1:1, allowing holders to redeem the underlying tokens at any time.
Tradable cards tied directly to locked $WHALE
The collection is now available to mint exclusively through mintwhale.io. Once minted, the cards can be traded on secondary marketplaces including Magic Eden. Whale.io describes the format as a hybrid asset: it behaves like a conventional NFT in transfer and marketplace trading, while also carrying a verifiable token balance underneath.
That structure gives users several options. They can hold the cards as digital assets, transfer them to other wallets, sell them on secondary markets, or redeem them back into $WHALE when they want to use the tokens on the Whale.io platform. Because each card is backed by real tokens locked on-chain, the stated value remains anchored to a visible reserve rather than a purely speculative NFT model.
Built for liquidity, access, and in-platform utility
According to Whale.io, the NFT layer is designed to turn $WHALE into a more tradable crypto asset while supporting liquidity across the ecosystem. It also opens a new entry route for users who want exposure to the Whale ecosystem by buying cards on Magic Eden instead of going through a traditional play-to-earn path.
The company also highlighted a practical use case for existing players. Users with lower $WHALE balances can buy additional cards on the secondary market and redeem them immediately for playable tokens, which can then be used for games, Battlepass access, and rewards. Whale.io said $WHALE remains the native currency across Whale Originals titles, including Crock Dentist and Blackjack, and is already used for gameplay, Battlepass purchases, staking rewards, and exclusive platform features.
Next features include staking and token redemption tools
Whale.io said upcoming additions will include a staking mechanism that locks liquid $WHALE into cards, as well as a dedicated token swapping interface for one-click redemption. The platform also restated its plan for regular market buybacks followed by permanent token burns.
Detailed card tiers, pricing, and redemption instructions are listed on mintwhale.io. Whale.io added that on-chain activity tied to the collection remains visible through its established treasury wallets. Community updates on mint progress, marketplace activity, and future roadmap milestones will be posted through @Whalegames_en on X.
