A demo showing XRP exposure being bought inside WhatsApp has spread widely on X. The post, shared by user nxxn, showed a conversational trading flow in which an AI agent executed a swap of 0.1 SOL for 5.99 wXRP after receiving a simple instruction to buy 0.1 SOL worth of the asset.
The trade did not take place on the native XRP Ledger. According to the source material, the asset involved was wrapped XRP, or wXRP, which means the transaction was carried out on Solana rather than on XRP’s original network.
A chat interface used as the entry point for an on-chain swap
The swap was reportedly handled by @solanaclawagent, an AI-powered trading agent that appears to use WhatsApp as a conversational interface for blockchain activity. Instead of opening a conventional DeFi front end, the user typed a direct command into a messaging app and triggered the trade from there.
That detail is what gave the demo weight. Crypto products have spent years trying to reduce the friction around on-chain actions, yet most still require users to move through wallet prompts, trading screens, and protocol-specific interfaces. A messaging app flow points to a different model, one built around tools people already use every day.
Yakovenko’s reaction pushed the post beyond a routine product test
The post drew added visibility after Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana’s co-founder, responded to it. The source notes that when one of the chain’s main architects publicly acknowledges a use case, the community tends to treat it as more than a curiosity.
Reaction across the community was mixed. Some saw the WhatsApp-based flow as a practical step toward broader access to on-chain trading, while others responded with playful scepticism. The source does not indicate whether the integration will move past the demo stage.
wXRP’s position on Solana remains early
The article also points to the background behind the asset itself. Hex Trust and LayerZero launched wrapped XRP on Solana in December 2025 with more than $100 million in liquidity. Even so, adoption has been slower than some expected, and most wrapped XRP supply is still sitting on Ethereum instead of shifting to Solana.
That context helps explain why the WhatsApp demo drew outsized interest. It was not presenting a new token. It was showing a different access layer for an existing on-chain asset, where the trading action stays on Solana but the user experience begins in a chat window.
