Qubic says 1,404 wallets were compromised and about 2.94 trillion QU was stolen
Layer 1 network Qubic said on X that attackers exploited insufficient randomness in some wallet seeds between 23:42 UTC on Oct. 17 and 01:26 UTC on Oct. 18, gaining access to 1,404 wallets and transferring out about 2.94 trillion QU.
Qubic said the issue came from the seed generation mechanism, not from the Qubic protocol itself. The network halted transactions at block height 85,371,949. Of the stolen funds, 87.1% remained on the network and was frozen. Another 12.9% was transferred to MEXC, where the related accounts were frozen, and other exchanges also suspended QUBIC deposits and withdrawals.
The project said version 4.26.4 fixed the seed generation issue. What happens next will be decided by a Computor quorum under network rules.

Shenzhen investigators warn about RWA real estate tokenization scams
Shenzhen economic crime investigators warned that some fraudulent projects are using labels such as RWA real estate tokenization and blockchain notarization to package high-yield investments. According to the notice, these projects try to build credibility with real contract addresses, company registration records, and so-called custody agreements.
The notice said such information can only show that code or an entity exists. It does not prove that the underlying real estate has actually completed property-right segmentation, nor does it show that the project has the qualifications to conduct financial business. In one case cited, investors received early “dividends” and then added more funds. Months later, the project stopped redemptions, and investors found that the claimed tokenized real estate had no corresponding property registration.
Shenzhen investigators said investors should not equate “technically verifiable” with “legal and compliant.”
