X rolled out a U.S. Cashtag Partner Program on Sept. 15, adding a new Trade button to supported stock, ETF and cryptocurrency pages. The feature links users from Cashtag pages on X to Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo, but it does not execute trades inside X itself. Users first view a price chart and related posts tied to a Cashtag, then choose a participating brokerage or trading platform and continue to that firm’s app or website, where login, account opening and transaction completion take place. Asset coverage is not identical across partners. Gemini said its integration covers stocks and five named cryptocurrencies: ZEC, HYPE, BTC, ETH and SOL. Kraken said U.S. users can tap any crypto Cashtag to go directly to Kraken, and later promoted access to more than 2,400 tokens, though that figure refers to Kraken’s token catalog rather than an X-supplied Cashtag count. X also named Coinbase as a launch partner, while Moomoo and Interactive Brokers described routes from asset discovery on X to trading on their own platforms.

X launched a U.S. Cashtag Partner Program on Sept. 15, adding a new Trade option to supported stock, ETF and cryptocurrency pages and linking them to Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo.

The feature does not execute a transaction on X. A user taps a Cashtag, views its price chart and related posts, picks a participating brokerage or trading platform, and then continues to that firm’s app or website. Login, account opening and transaction completion happen on the partner side.

Partner coverage differs by asset route

X said all five firms were available at launch. Its announcement said the feature works with supported Cashtags for stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies, while partner statements added more detail on what some of those routes include.

Gemini said its connection with X covers stocks and five specifically named cryptocurrencies: ZEC, HYPE, BTC, ETH and SOL.

Kraken said U.S. users can tap any crypto Cashtag to go directly to Kraken. In a follow-up, the exchange promoted access to more than 2,400 tokens. That 2,400 figure refers to Kraken’s stated token catalog, not to a Cashtag count provided by X.

X named Coinbase among the launch partners. Moomoo’s launch guide described a path from a stock conversation on X to the corresponding ticker on Moomoo. Interactive Brokers told users they could trade an asset discovered on X through IBKR.

X handles discovery and routing, not order execution

Under the workflow described by X, a user finds an asset, opens its Cashtag page and taps a brokerage partner. The transaction is then completed directly at that brokerage.

That means X is not placing market orders, limit orders or any other order type. Its role in the flow is the handoff that sends the user to the selected firm.

For Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini, the program creates a route from supported Cashtag pages to their services after users review price charts and related posts. Existing customers can continue to their brokerage accounts, while new users may be taken to account signup. X described the product as connecting ticker discovery and conversation to taking action with a brokerage.

The final steps remain with the selected partner, with account access and transaction completion handled through that brokerage’s mobile app or web interface.
