Ali Charts said XRP broke out of a symmetrical triangle on the daily chart, but rising selling pressure could still send the token to $1.14. Whale transfers above $1 million fell sharply over nine days.

XRP has entered another volatile stretch after Ali Charts identified a breakout from a symmetrical triangle on the daily chart. The move has not removed downside risk. According to the analyst, growing selling pressure could still drag the token toward $1.14, while price action remains largely pinned between $1.35 support and $1.50 resistance.

Breakout appears after months of stalled price action

The reported breakout came after an extended consolidation phase that followed XRP’s loss of momentum earlier in the year. XRP traded above $2.00 in December and then advanced toward the $2.35 to $2.40 resistance area in January 2026. Buyers failed to hold that push. A prolonged correction followed in February, eventually pulling the token back toward the $1.40 zone.

Death cross in February still weighs on the chart

A major technical shift arrived in early February, when the 50-day moving average crossed below the 200-day moving average. Traders typically view that structure as a bearish death cross. After the crossover, XRP fell from around $1.80 toward the $1.40 region. Since then, the asset has stayed trapped between $1.35 and $1.50 for the most part, while $1.80 continues to stand out as another important resistance level. XRP has also failed to reclaim the 50-day moving average, leaving short-term bearish pressure in place.

Whale activity slows sharply across the network

On-chain data showed a clear drop in large-holder activity. Ali Charts reported that XRP transactions valued above $1 million fell from 157 to 67 in nine days, a decline of 57.3%. The pullback in whale participation points to a period of market compression, with large players becoming less active as price remains stuck inside a tight range.

Active addresses cooled, holder count kept rising

Network activity was more mixed. Daily active addresses moved above 60,000 during the more volatile sessions in January and February, then cooled later and stabilized closer to the 25,000 to 45,000 range. At the same time, the total number of XRP holders kept climbing, rising from roughly 7.28 million wallets to 7.86 million. That leaves XRP in a market where price remains under pressure, whale activity has slowed, and wallet growth continues in the background.
