U.S. spot XRP ETFs have drawn massive capital after the SEC provided regulatory clarity in late 2025. According to Ripple, five U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded over $1.5 billion in cumulative net inflows by March 2026, with zero net outflow days during the first month of trading.

SEC’s New Rules and Futures Market Paved the Way

The approval pathway opened after the SEC introduced generic listing standards for crypto ETPs, shortening review timelines to roughly 75 days. However, XRP had to first trade on regulated futures markets for six months. Bitnomial launched XRP futures in March 2025, followed by CME-listed XRP futures that reached $1 billion in open interest faster than any prior crypto contract. The CME CF XRP-Dollar Reference Rate provided the pricing benchmark needed for ETF structures.

Multiple ETFs Hit the Market; Inflows Accelerate

From November 2025, several issuers launched spot XRP ETFs on major exchanges. Canary Capital's XRPC debuted first, followed by products from Bitwise, Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, and 21Shares. REX-Osprey had listed an earlier product in September. Ripple reported that inflows exceeded $1 billion by mid-December 2025 and surpassed $1.5 billion across five funds by March 2026. Custody data showed over 769 million XRP tokens held in these ETFs.

Goldman Sachs and Hedge Funds Load Up

Regulatory filings revealed heavy institutional buying. Goldman Sachs disclosed a $153.8 million position across multiple XRP ETFs in March 2026, accounting for roughly 73% of all reported institutional XRP ETF holdings. Millennium and Citadel also reported exposure. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan noted that institutional demand remained steady despite market volatility, with investors using XRP ETFs alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum in diversified allocations.

XRP Ledger Activity Spikes Alongside ETF Adoption

The ETF boom coincided with increased on-chain activity. Ripple data shows the XRP Ledger processed over 4 billion transactions, while tokenized assets on the network reached $474 million, signaling growing utility beyond just speculative demand.
