XRP staged a sharp rebound after weeks of selling pressure, as easing geopolitical fears drove capital back into major altcoins. The token surged over 13% in 24 hours to hit $1.28 for the first time in two weeks before cooling, according to Santiment. The move followed a slide from a January high above $2.30 to a June 11 low near $1.10. By June 16, XRP traded around $1.23, up 4.17% in the past day, with volume exceeding $3 billion and a market cap of roughly $76.4 billion, ranking fifth.
Whale Supply Share Hits Record 74.1%
Large holders remain central to the market. Santiment reported that wallets holding at least 1 million XRP now control 74.1% of the total supply, adding 1.53 billion tokens over the past six months while retail sentiment stayed weak. This accumulation reduces liquid supply and can support rebounds, but the risk of whales selling into strength remains.
Binance Withdrawals Outpace Deposits
CryptoQuant analyst Amr Taha noted that XRP withdrawal transactions on Binance reached 53.2% on June 15 and 53.1% on June 16, while deposits fell to 46.7% and 46.8% respectively. The divergence suggests more tokens are leaving the exchange, potentially reducing selling pressure. However, price confirmation is still needed.
ETF Inflows Extend Five-Week Streak
Institutional demand continues to build. XRP-linked products recorded their fifth consecutive week of net inflows, adding about $10.68 million in the week ending June 12, pushing cumulative inflows close to $1.44 billion. SoSoValue data showed $2.82 million in single-day inflows on June 15. While ETF access keeps XRP in the institutional conversation, analysts caution that inflows alone have not reversed the year's weak trend.
XRPL's Built-in DEX Draws Renewed Interest
Former Ripple developer Matt Hamilton highlighted that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has operated a native decentralized exchange since 2012, as new Solana DEX models gained attention. "This problem was solved 15 years ago on the XRP Ledger," he wrote. Developers are also testing lending and AMM upgrades, supporting the network's utility narrative but not guaranteeing token price gains.
$1.30 Resistance Looms as Key Test
Analyst CasiTrades said XRP is approaching major resistance near $1.30 after a stronger-than-expected bounce from the $1.09 macro support. The move may hint at a new trend, but confirmation is lacking. A failure at $1.30 could open the door to the $0.90 support zone. Another analyst, Batman, cited a bullish MACD crossover and rising futures activity, though open interest remains normal. A daily close above $1.30 would strengthen the recovery case; otherwise, XRP may remain range-bound with traders watching Binance flows, ETF demand, and whale balances.
