XRP climbed 7.5% to nearly $1.45 over the past week after the official launch of wXRP on the Solana network. Data from CryptoAppsy shows Solana itself rose 3.6% to around $87.61, both altcoins riding the momentum of this cross-chain integration.

How wXRP Works on Solana

RippleX announced that wrapped XRP (wXRP) is now live in selected Solana applications. Hex Trust safeguards the underlying XRP reserves, while LayerZero provides the cross-chain infrastructure, allowing users to convert wXRP back to native XRP at any time and maintain price parity across platforms. This setup gives XRP holders direct entry into Solana’s DeFi ecosystem — a door that was previously closed.

Access to Solana Ecosystem Apps

Through the partnership, XRP holders can use popular Solana-based platforms such as Jupiter, Titan, Phantom, Meteora, and Byreal for trading, swapping, wallet management, and liquidity provision. Brad Garlinghouse underlined that “XRP now serves not just for payments, but for trading, liquidity provision, and DeFi participation across multiple ecosystems.” Traditionally known for fast and cheap payments, XRP now taps into Solana’s vibrant DeFi landscape, significantly broadening its ecosystem and user base.

RLUSD Stablecoin Progress

In parallel, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin made headlines. Christian Rau, Head of Digital Commerce at Mastercard, said the company is working with partners like Gemini to enable direct card settlement transactions in RLUSD, targeting a rollout within the first half of 2026. This adds another layer of payment usability to the XRP ecosystem.

Cross-Chain Adoption: From Concept to Reality

Cross-chain adoption for XRP isn’t entirely new — former Ripple CTO David Schwartz and Hex Trust previously endorsed the idea, but the Solana wXRP launch is the first concrete bridge. By enabling wider use across multiple blockchains, the initiative drives adoption and utility, aligning with Ripple’s strategy to diversify XRP’s reach and use cases.
