RippleX has laid out the next set of priorities for the XRP Ledger, with the roadmap aimed squarely at institutional DeFi. The network’s main areas for 2026 are credit systems, privacy solutions, and permissioned on-chain markets, signaling a push beyond payments into tokenized assets, on-chain trading, and institutional lending structures.
Roadmap shifts toward institutional on-chain finance
The update highlights several features expected to shape that expansion, including Multi-Purpose Token (MPT), Permissioned Domains, Credit Protocol, and Secret Transfers. Based on the source material, those tools are intended to widen the use of tokenized assets, exchange activity, and on-chain credit. RippleX also pointed to Credentials, the Token Escrow System, and Batch Transactions as building blocks for compliance-focused use cases, governance processes, and reserve management.
Within permissioned DEX designs, XRP is positioned as a bridge asset. That matters because it ties XRP directly to automatic bridging, fee burning, reserve requirements, and liquidity provision, giving the token a functional role inside the market structure rather than limiting it to simple transfer settlement.
XRP rebounds from $1.11 low, still up 9% in 24 hours
Market action has improved alongside the technical roadmap. Citing Santiment data, the source says XRP recovered from a February 6 low of $1.11 to $1.55 after more than a week of heavy selling, a gain of nearly 25%. At the time referenced in the article, the price had eased from that peak and was trading near $1.41, while still posting a 24-hour rise of 9%.
Unique addresses hit 78,727 in eight hours as whale activity jumps
On-chain metrics also turned higher. The number of unique XRP Ledger addresses rose to 78,727 within an eight-hour window, the highest level in six months. Over the same stretch, the network recorded 1,389 whale transactions worth more than $100,000 each, the strongest reading in four months. Santiment linked those figures to a possible trend reversal.
The article also points to ETF-related sentiment in the broader market. Renewed institutional interest in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, together with limited but steady inflows from US-based funds, has supported major crypto assets and revived attention on infrastructure-focused networks such as XRP.
