Crypto analyst Ali Charts posted on X that XRP whales accumulated 360 million tokens over the past week, worth roughly $518 million at current prices. The on-chain data shift pushed market attention back to Ripple's native token after a period of narrowed movement.
At press time XRP was trading at $1.44 with a 24-hour volume of $2.67 billion. According to CoinGecko, the token rose 1.59% in the last day and 4.98% over seven days. Whale accumulation occurred while price held near resistance, adding speculation about whether large holders can ignite the next leg up.
Symmetrical Triangle, Bullish SuperTrend, and $1.55
Ali Charts previously flagged a symmetrical triangle formation on XRP's daily chart, pointing to a potential 35% move in either direction. That pattern has kept XRP range-bound, with traders waiting for a breakout. On April 18 he added that the SuperTrend indicator flipped bullish for the first time since January 17, with $1.55 as the critical level to watch.
Futures open interest rose to $2.61 billion, with gains across CME and Binance. Short liquidations spiked between April 15 and April 16 after XRP climbed above $1.40, reflecting rising trader interest as prices pushed higher.
Support sits near $1.37-$1.38. If that zone holds, buyers may target $1.50 again. Clearing that resistance would open the path to $1.65.
Ripple's Tokenized Bonds, wXRP on Solana, and WhatsApp Trading
Beyond price action, Ripple is working with Kyobo Life Insurance on tokenizing South Korean government bonds, adding a real-world use case to XRP's narrative. Separately, wrapped XRP (wXRP) went live on Solana via Hex Trust and LayerZero, enabling new trading flows. An AI-powered WhatsApp interface now lets users buy and sell XRP through text commands, lowering the barrier for retail participants.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index rose to 62, signaling mild optimism. Together with whale buying, these developments fuel the momentum narrative — but XRP still needs to decisively break above resistance to confirm a sustained rally.
