Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua said on Sept. 12 that market direction has diverged over the past two days as expectations around a possible rate hike emerged. In his view, there are now two main paths ahead. If a hike is delivered, he said the market could break below 76,000 in the short term, continue lower, trade in a lower range, and then resume climbing. If no hike comes, he said the market would keep moving higher.
Yihua added that spot exposure without leverage remains the preferred approach regardless of which scenario plays out. Speaking during an exchange at a business school in Shenzhen, he also outlined what he sees as three opportunities over the next three years: roughly 4x upside in mainstream BTC and ETH spot holdings, with as much as 10x possible through active swing trading; 100x opportunities in trading infrastructure, which he described as blockchain’s core demand; and what he called CZ-defined IPOs, referring to stocks and IPO listings moving on-chain, which he said could bring standout quality assets while pushing white-paper tokens out of the market.
BlockBeats reported on Sept. 12 that Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua said crypto markets have started to split in direction over the past two days as expectations of a possible rate hike surfaced.
He said that, with the bearish news already on the table, there are two possible paths from here. One is that a rate hike does happen. In that case, he said the market could fall below 76,000 in the short term, keep moving lower, trade in a lower range for a period, and then rise again. The other is that no hike happens, in which case the market would continue moving up.
On positioning, Yi said spot holdings without leverage are the best choice in either scenario.
He also said that during a discussion at a business school in Shenzhen earlier that day, he spoke about several opportunities he sees over the next three years:
- Mainstream BTC and ETH spot positions could return about 4x, with 10x as a target for those able to trade swings effectively.
- Trading infrastructure still offers 100x potential. He said trading remains blockchain’s core demand.
- CZ-defined IPOs, meaning stocks and IPOs moving on-chain, could bring genuinely standout, high-quality assets, while the era of white-paper tokens would fully come to an end.
