Zama said it has launched Confidential RFQ, a protocol designed for fully onchain, composable and private request-for-quote trading on Ethereum. The system is built to conceal trade size, the assets involved and trade direction, aiming at larger crypto transactions where information leakage can become costly. The protocol is currently in private testing and is scheduled for a public release in September. According to the announcement, Confidential RFQ uses a sealed-bid auction model that lets professional market makers compete to fill trades. Zama said the design is intended to address two issues often tied to institutional-sized block trades in crypto: maximal extractable value, or MEV, attacks, and privacy leakage. The company also said that all swap fees generated by the protocol will be used to buy back and burn the ZAMA token.
