Privacy blockchain Zano said Zenith has moved into the implementation phase, with a network transition currently planned for 2027, subject to the outcome of testing, analysis, and review. The project has not set an activation date, and the proposed operating parameters still need validation at the network level. Under the proposal, Zano would move from a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake model to a privacy-preserving pure proof-of-stake protocol. The block time would be reduced from about one minute to roughly 15 seconds, while the recommended confirmation count would fall from 10 blocks to 4 to 6 blocks, putting typical confirmation time at around 60 to 90 seconds. Co-founder and core developer Andrey Sabelnikov said Zenith builds on more than 12 years of privacy research and is designed to give the network the benefits of modern PoS while keeping the privacy protections Zano users expect. Zano also said current PoW miners receive about 720 newly issued ZANO per day, or about 21,600 per month and 262,800 per year. That issuance would end once Zenith is activated and PoW mining stops. The team also launched the official Zano Forum for technical discussion and community support.

Privacy blockchain Zano said Zenith has entered the implementation phase, with a network transition planned for 2027, depending on the results of testing, analysis, and review.

Zano has not announced an activation date. The proposed operating parameters still require validation at the network level.

Shift from hybrid PoW-PoS to pure PoS

Under the proposal, Zenith would move Zano away from its hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake design and into a privacy-preserving pure proof-of-stake protocol.

The planned changes would cut block time from about one minute to about 15 seconds. The recommended confirmation count would drop from 10 blocks to 4 to 6 blocks, with typical confirmation time estimated at around 60 to 90 seconds.

What the team says Zenith is built to do

Zano co-founder and core developer Andrey Sabelnikov said Zenith is based on more than 12 years of privacy research and is intended to give the network the advantages of modern PoS while keeping the privacy protections Zano users expect.

PoW issuance would end after activation

Zano said PoW miners currently receive about 720 newly issued ZANO per day, equal to about 21,600 per month and 262,800 per year. That portion of issuance would be eliminated once Zenith is activated and PoW mining ends.

The project also launched the official Zano Forum for technical discussion and community support.
