Privacy-focused blockchain Zano said Zenith has moved into the implementation stage and is planned for a network transition in 2027, subject to the results of testing, analysis, and review. The project has not set an activation date, and the proposed operating parameters still require validation at the network level.
Under the proposal, Zano would move from its current hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake design to a privacy-preserving pure proof-of-stake protocol. Block times are expected to drop from about one minute to about 15 seconds. The recommended confirmation count would fall from 10 blocks to 4 to 6 blocks, with typical confirmation times of around 60 to 90 seconds.
Zano co-founder and core developer Andrey Sabelnikov said Zenith is built on more than 12 years of privacy research and is intended to give the network the benefits of modern PoS while keeping the privacy protections users expect from Zano. The project also said current PoW miners receive about 720 newly issued ZANO per day, equal to roughly 21,600 per month and 262,800 per year. That issuance will be removed once Zenith goes live and PoW mining ends. Zano has also launched an official Zano Forum for technical discussion and community support.

Zenith would move Zano to a pure PoS model
Under the proposal, Zenith would shift Zano from a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake mechanism to a privacy-preserving pure proof-of-stake protocol.

Co-founder outlines the goal

PoW issuance would end after activation
At present, PoW miners receive about 720 newly issued ZANO per day, or around 21,600 per month and 262,800 per year. Zano said that once Zenith is activated and PoW mining ends, that portion of issuance will be removed.
Zano has also launched its official Zano Forum for technical discussion and community support.
