Zebec Network has unveiled its 2026 Institutional Compliance Initiative, turning a set of milestones reached in late 2025 into a formal framework for institutional DeFi. The protocol said the roadmap is built around enterprise certifications, regulatory alignment, and financial infrastructure integrations, with the aim of becoming a compliance-focused base layer for institutional decentralized finance.
The announcement packages together work that had already been underway. Rather than introducing a single standalone product, Zebec is codifying an institutional strategy that carried over from the final quarter of 2025 into 2026.
Payments access, messaging standards, and payroll integration
One of the clearest developments is Zebec’s move into the U.S. payments ecosystem. In late 2025, the company said it had applied to join the Nacha Payments Innovation Alliance. Nacha governs the U.S. ACH network, which processed $93 trillion in transactions in 2025. Membership was officially confirmed by Nacha in the first quarter of 2026, and Zebec was included in a group of 20 new members announced publicly in April 2026. That cohort included Circle, along with other organizations across the payments sector.
Zebec also said it completed its ISO 20022 alignment process. ISO 20022 is the international financial messaging standard used by SWIFT, central banks, and major cross-border payment networks. For any financial infrastructure seeking integration with regulated settlement systems, compatibility with that standard is a technical requirement.
Another piece of the rollout is Zebec’s integration with U.S. payroll processor NatPay. According to the announcement, NatPay routes more than $158 billion annually across 318,000 ACH clients. The integration allows employers to distribute wages from one dashboard through traditional ACH and FedNow rails while also using Zebec’s real-time blockchain streaming layer. Zebec describes this dual-rail setup as a production-grade bridge between legacy payroll infrastructure and programmable blockchain settlement at institutional scale.
Four pillars in the 2026 compliance initiative
The initiative is organized around four areas. The first is regulatory certification, including preparation of a MiCA white paper and ongoing enterprise security certification work. The second is treasury transparency, centered on public on-chain buybacks funded by verifiable protocol revenue. The third is enterprise connectivity, with plans to expand the NatPay and Nacha relationships into additional regional payroll networks. The fourth is tokenomics finalization: Zebec said all vesting schedules were completed in March 2026, after which ZBCN moved to a fully deflationary model with no new supply entering circulation.
Zebec added that its buyback program has run continuously since launch. The purchases are funded through payroll processing fees, card transaction volume, and enterprise licensing contracts, with ZBCN acquired on the open market. The company said all buyback transactions can be verified on-chain.
What Zebec says its network now includes
Zebec describes itself as a multi-chain programmable payments infrastructure protocol for real-time, continuous disbursements spanning payroll, business-to-business settlement, and consumer remittances. Founded in 2021 by Sam Thapaliya, the protocol first launched on Solana and later expanded into a multi-chain setup that includes BNB Chain and additional networks through the Nautilus Chain layer.
Its enterprise product stack includes WageLink for real-time employer payroll disbursement, Zebec Pay for multi-asset payment cards, and a SuperApp that combines staking, payroll, and card management in one interface. ZBCN serves as the network’s native utility and governance token.
