ZetaChain has launched ZetaChain 2.0 and opened the public waitlist for Anuma, a privacy-first AI interface built on the new stack. The company describes ZetaChain 2.0 as an AI interoperability layer aimed at helping developers build applications and agents that work across multiple AI models, preserve private user context, and monetize globally without running their own backend infrastructure.
Anuma becomes the first consumer-facing product on ZetaChain 2.0
Anuma is the first consumer AI interface built on the new platform. It gives users access to multiple leading AI models through a single product experience, supports switching between models without losing context, and is designed so memory stays private and under user control. Access is not fully open yet. Users can request early entry through the public waitlist.
ZetaChain linked the product vision to the background of core contributor Ankur Nandwani, who previously co-created Basic Attention Token, or BAT. According to the source material, BAT powers the Brave browser ecosystem, which has more than 100 million monthly active users. Brave became widely known for blocking trackers and ads by default, and Anuma applies that same privacy-first, user-control-first approach to AI interfaces, where context and memory are becoming central to the experience.
The pitch targets fragmentation across models, routing, and billing
The company framed the launch around the rapid growth of AI and the limits of the current market structure. McKinsey is cited as noting that ChatGPT reached 100 million users in two months, while OpenAI reported 800 million weekly active users by late 2025. At the same time, only 9% of consumers pay for more than one AI subscription across major assistants. That leaves users concentrated in a few interfaces and pushes developers to rebuild the same integration, routing, state, and billing systems again and again, while private data is often shared across apps, agents, and model providers.
ZetaChain said its original Web3 thesis was to reduce fragmentation by enabling universal apps that can natively access assets such as BTC and execute across multiple blockchains from one platform. In 2025, the network scaled to more than 11.5 million users and processed over 225 million transactions. With ZetaChain 2.0, the company is extending that unification approach from blockchains to AI models, with permissions and private context built into the system.
Two core pieces: a routing layer and a protocol-level memory system
ZetaChain 2.0 consists of two main components. One is a unified routing and execution layer that allows applications to work with multiple AI model providers without lock-in, while including support for availability, fallback, and cost-performance optimization. The other is a protocol-level memory system designed to keep user context encrypted and permissioned, enabling persistent experiences across sessions while preserving user control over which apps or agents can access that information.
Alongside the protocol, ZetaChain is also releasing a developer SDK. The toolkit combines private persistent memory, cross-model interoperability, and monetization primitives in one package. The stated goal is to let teams build privacy-first apps and AI agents that maintain continuity across sessions, connect to multiple providers, and support global monetization rails ranging from onchain settlement to traditional payment processors, without building bespoke infrastructure from scratch.
Funding history and the company’s public statement
ZetaChain said it announced a $27 million funding round in 2023, with participation from Blockchain.com, Human Capital, VY Capital, Sky9 Capital, Jane Street Capital, VistaLabs, CMT Digital, Foundation Capital, Lingfeng Capital, GSR, and others. In a quoted statement, Ankur Nandwani said Brave and BAT showed that privacy-first defaults can succeed at consumer scale, and that ZetaChain 2.0 extends a similar model to AI after the network had already powered more than 225 million transactions on the blockchain side.
