SpaceX set for major stock unlock, with up to $116 billion becoming eligible for sale

SpaceX is about to enter one of the largest stock lockup expirations ever seen in capital markets, according to Bloomberg. Shares worth as much as $116 billion are expected to become eligible for sale for the first time next month. The key date is Aug. 6, when restrictions barring certain insiders from selling up to 911.5 million shares are scheduled to expire. That comes two days after the rocket, satellite and artificial intelligence company is set to report quarterly results for the first time. Bloomberg said the Aug. 6 unlock is only the opening phase. Before the end of 2026, billions of additional shares are expected to become eligible for trading, expanding the pool of stock that can potentially be sold into the market.

XRP jumps on Clarity Act hopes, but technical signals remain cautious

XRP outperformed much of the crypto market after reports said President Donald Trump had agreed to an ethics provision that had stalled the Clarity Act in the Senate. The token rose to an intraday high of $1.1511 and settled at $1.1485, up 3.5% on the day, while roughly $2.93 million in leveraged short positions were liquidated. Bitcoin also moved above $66,000, five-day spot ETF inflows topped $700 million, and stronger Asian AI and semiconductor stocks added to the broader risk-on mood. For XRP, the legislation carries direct significance because it would formally classify the token as a digital commodity, removing a regulatory overhang that has weighed on institutional demand for years. Still, the chart picture is less decisive than the headline move. ADX remains at 12.3, well below the level commonly used to confirm a trend, and the 50-day average is still below the 200-day average in a death cross setup. RSI at 58 points to improving buying pressure, while the Squeeze Momentum Indicator suggests volatility is beginning to expand. Polymarket traders lifted the odds of passage to 43% from a recent low of 32%, though the Senate still needs to vote before the August recess.

Anthropic adds screen-recorded skill creation to Claude Cowork

Anthropic said on July 21 through its official X account @ClaudeAI that Claude Cowork now includes a new feature called "Record a Skill." The tool lets users teach Claude a repeatable task by recording their screen while narrating what they are doing. Once the recording is finished, Claude converts the screen demo and spoken explanation into a reusable skill that it can execute later. The feature appears in the "+" menu of the Claude desktop app under the name "Record a skill" and is currently available to users on Claude Pro, Max, and Team plans. Anthropic has not said whether it will extend access to the free tier or the Enterprise plan. The update changes how skills can be created inside Claude. Previously, users had to build them manually with a SKILL.md file and YAML frontmatter. Anthropic presented the new workflow as a demonstration-based way to "Teach Claude a skill." The company also tied the launch to the broader expansion of Claude Cowork, which it describes as an agentic work tool that can operate across connected files, calendars, email, messaging software, and the web.

Trump extends corporate pardons to crypto as BitMEX parent is spared $100 million penalty

U.S. President Donald Trump has extended the scope of corporate pardons into the crypto sector during his second term, according to Odaily. So far, nine companies have been pardoned, including HDR Global Trading, the parent company of crypto exchange BitMEX. HDR Global Trading had been facing a $100 million fine over anti-money laundering violations. Trump signed the pardon order on March 27, 2025, covering both the company and four former executives, including co-founder Arthur Hayes. The timing fell in the same week that the fine was due. The report also said the idea of pardoning corporations was first raised in early 2025, when BitMEX’s parent company was quietly seeking clemency. Some White House officials reportedly cited a precedent from more than 300 years ago, when King Charles II of England pardoned a corporation, as support for the move.

Google launches Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite and Cyber, says Gemini 4 pre-training is underway

Google has introduced three new Flash-series AI models — Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber — as it pushes deeper into AI agent workflows and enterprise deployment. In a July 21 blog post by Senior Director of Product Management Tulsee Doshi, the company said the new releases were built in response to user feedback and are designed to improve the trade-off between speed, cost and reasoning. Gemini 3.6 Flash is positioned as the main workhorse model, with Google citing stronger performance in coding, knowledge work and multimodal tasks. The company said it scored 83.0% on OSWorld-Verified for computer-use capability, while output token usage fell 17% from the previous generation, with reductions of as much as 65% on some benchmarks such as DeepSWE. Pricing was listed at $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens. Google also rolled out Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite for low-latency, high-throughput tasks, saying it can generate 350 tokens per second. Separately, it released Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber for cybersecurity defense use cases, though access is currently limited to governments and trusted partners under a pilot. Doshi also said Google has formally begun pre-training Gemini 4.

Analyst says ECB likely to hold rates steady this week while keeping a hawkish tone

Nuveen Global Investment Strategist Laura Cooper said in a report that the European Central Bank is likely to leave interest rates unchanged at this week’s meeting after raising them in June, while still signaling a hawkish stance. She said the ECB would remain open to further tightening if renewed tensions push energy prices higher. Cooper pointed to softer-than-feared inflation, little sign of renewed acceleration in the pricing components of purchasing managers’ index, or PMI, data, and producer price figures showing that upstream cost pressures are easing. In her view, those factors support a pause this month. At the same time, she said the situation remains complicated because fresh disruptions to commodity supply could bring back pressure on energy prices just as the ECB is gaining confidence in the path of disinflation.

Anchorage Digital adds native TRX staking for institutional custody clients

Anchorage Digital has launched native TRX staking for its institutional custody clients, letting investors earn TRON network rewards without moving assets out of custody. The service is designed for institutions that want staking access inside a regulated custody setup rather than through separate operational arrangements. According to the announcement cited by Techub and sourced to Bitcoinist, the product addresses several barriers that institutions often face when staking, including custody control, compliance procedures, and reporting requirements. The rollout also broadens Anchorage Digital’s staking lineup and points to a wider shift in institutional staking beyond Ethereum and Solana toward additional blockchain networks.
