According to Jinshi, U.S. President Donald Trump said he will deliver a national address at 9 p.m. on July 14, which corresponds to 9 a.m. Beijing time on July 15, as tensions between the United States and Iran rise again around the Strait of Hormuz. Trump did not disclose what the speech will cover. Bonzo Lend hit by more than $10 million in abnormal borrowing after Supra oracle flaw on Hedera

Bonzo Lend, a lending protocol on Hedera, was exploited on July 11 after an attacker abused a verification flaw in a third-party Supra oracle contract. Bonzo’s preliminary incident report said the attacker posted 250 SAUCE tokens worth only a few dollars as collateral, then pushed a manipulated price update that sharply inflated the token’s value against HBAR. That account went on to borrow 6.63 million USDC and 34.52 million wrapped HBAR, worth about $9.05 million at the report’s reference HBAR price. A second wallet borrowed roughly $1 million more while the abnormal price remained live, then contacted Bonzo on Discord, described itself as a white-hat responder, and said the funds would be returned. That brought total abnormal borrowing to about $10.06 million before any return. Bonzo later said its protocol had been paused and remains paused while recovery work continues. Supra Labs said the incident stemmed from a degenerate BLS signature and a zero-valued public key that its Hedera verifier incorrectly accepted for a single SAUCE/wHBAR feed, adding that its core aggregation system and other feeds were not affected. After the exploit, Hedera’s TVL dropped nearly 40% over 24 hours, while Bonzo’s TVL fell 77%. DefiLlama now lists Bonzo at $3.06 million in TVL.

Turkey indicts 504 suspects in crypto-linked laundering case worth nearly 40 billion lira

Turkish prosecutors have indicted 504 suspects over an alleged money-laundering network that handled nearly 40 billion lira, or about $1 billion, through shell companies and cryptocurrency transactions. Prosecutors are seeking prison terms of up to 34.5 years for the alleged ringleader and up to 31 years for network managers. According to a 1,548-page indictment, the group moved funds tied to illegal betting through the “M80” platform, jewelry stores and POS terminals. Part of the proceeds was then converted into cryptocurrency and transferred abroad. Prosecutors also allege that some members ran investment fraud schemes by luring victims with promises of high returns. The case has now entered judicial proceedings, according to crypto.news, cited by Techub.

Trump Urges Senate to Pass Clarity Act After Graham’s Death as GOP Margin Tightens

President Donald Trump on Monday pressed the Senate to pass the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, linking the bill to the death of Senator Lindsey Graham over the weekend as lawmakers face a short runway before the August recess. In a Truth Social post, Trump called Graham a strong supporter of the measure and framed its passage as part of a broader competition with China. Graham, however, was not involved in negotiating the bill. He did not serve on the Senate Banking or Agriculture committees this session and did not vote to move the legislation forward, though he had supported the GENIUS Act stablecoin law last year. His death reduced Republicans’ Senate majority to 52-47, and Senator Mitch McConnell’s hospitalization has left the party with even less room for absences. The bigger hurdle remains the Senate’s 60-vote threshold to overcome a filibuster. Democrats have said they will not provide those votes unless the bill includes conflict-of-interest language covering the president and his family, after Trump’s 2025 financial disclosure showed at least $1.4 billion in crypto income. According to The Block, a new draft expected this week still does not include an ethics provision.
