Chainlink has announced the rollout of CCIP v1.6, adding support for the Solana network and introducing architectural upgrades designed to work across different virtual machine environments. The release marks the first time the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol has expanded beyond EVM-compatible blockchains. According to the announcement, the update is intended to reduce cross-chain costs and accelerate expansion to additional networks.
