Ansem says new altcoin leaders will keep emerging in a bull market
Crypto trader Ansem said investors who watch the market too closely and try to read price direction from 15-minute candles are prone to overtrading. He argued that spot, perpetual futures and high-risk on-chain trading accounts should be managed separately, and that trying to catch every local top and bottom can hurt long-term returns. Instead, he said, traders should study past bull markets and focus on how long uptrends usually last. According to Ansem, altcoins often move through faster leadership cycles and can outperform the broader market for four to six months before new leaders emerge, especially after market caps have expanded by more than 10x. He added that this cycle may include a few exceptions, as some altcoins could see revenue rise sharply alongside price, improving fundamentals at the same time. In that case, if project revenue and other data change in a meaningful way, institutional buyers may keep accumulating and investors may need to revise earlier views. He also pointed to the previous cycle, saying Bitcoin bottomed in January 2023 and peaked in October 2025, with the uptrend lasting about 33 months. If the current cycle bottomed in July, he said, the market would only be in month four.
