BlackRock and Ondo launch tokenized onchain portfolio strategy product

BlackRock has partnered with Ondo Finance to roll out Intelligent Portfolios, a structure that packages fully built investment strategies into a single onchain token. The initial lineup includes three portfolios focused on income, diversified growth, and aggressive growth, allowing investors to gain exposure to an entire basket through one token instead of buying and rebalancing each underlying asset separately. The model goes beyond tokenizing individual stocks, bonds, or funds by putting the portfolio itself, along with its asset-allocation strategy, onchain. According to the report cited by Odaily and sourced to CoinDesk, the tokens may later be transferable across wallets and platforms and could be used as collateral for lending or connected to other onchain financial products. Pantera described the shift as a move from "single securities" to "onchain portfolios." Lisa O'Connor, BlackRock's head of global model portfolio solutions, said tokenization is creating a new way to deliver portfolio strategies through digital infrastructure. Broadridge data showed that assets managed in traditional model portfolios stood at about $9.8 trillion as of June this year.

R25 opens public beta for R25 Studio, cutting fund setup time to 10 minutes

R25 said on Tuesday that R25 Studio, the core product built on its 2 architecture, has entered public beta. The platform is designed around the idea that anyone can become an asset manager, opening up institutional-grade fund creation, operations, and distribution tools to a broader group of users. According to the announcement, R25 Studio turns legal documentation, back-office systems, and compliance procedures into configurable smart contracts, reducing the time needed to launch a fund from several months to 10 minutes. The product is structured around four functions — Build, Manage, Earn, and Distribute — and covers Vault creation, subscriptions and redemptions, investment management, fee generation, and distribution. Asset managers can set investment parameters, management fees, and performance fees on-chain, issue dedicated Vault Tokens or Shares, and list Vaults through channels including Dapp and Topnod. The platform also provides performance metrics such as NAV, APY, cumulative return, and maximum drawdown. R25 added that Axil had previously launched a private credit Vault on R25 during phase 1, with TVL surpassing $130 million. Registration for the first batch of lead managers is now open.

Payward, Kraken’s parent, is spending billions to build financial infrastructure beyond crypto trading

Payward, the Wyoming-based parent company of Kraken, is reshaping itself from the owner of a crypto exchange into a broader financial infrastructure platform. In an interview with CoinDesk, co-CEO Arjun Sethi said the company is unifying trading, banking, asset management and institutional services on a single stack built around what he called “one ledger,” with one balance sheet and one regulatory framework. Over the past two years, Payward has spent billions on acquisitions and strategic expansion, including its $1.5 billion purchase of NinjaTrader and a $550 million deal for Bitnomial, while also pursuing more banking capacity in the U.S. and Europe. The company says Kraken now has about 6.6 million funded accounts and between $40 billion and $50 billion in assets across more than 190 countries and territories. Payward is adding cards, lending, derivatives, tokenized equities and products that let customers borrow against holdings or use them in DeFi applications. At the same time, it is opening its infrastructure to outside firms through Payward Services, which Sethi said is already being used by at least 25 companies expected to launch products this year. Payward is also working with major incumbents rather than trying to replace them outright. Nasdaq agreed this month to invest $100 million and expand collaboration on equity tokens and surveillance technology, while the London Stock Exchange is exploring tokenized public equities with the firm. Sethi said Payward remains profitable, does not need an IPO to fund operations and is in no rush to go public, with a listing not expected before the second quarter of 2027 at the earliest.

It also supports automated workflows, approval mechanisms for large-value actions, and payments between agents. Binance said Agent OS is designed to help users automate cryptocurrency asset management through customizable permission rules and built-in safeguards. The stated goal is to give users more control over how AI agents operate while keeping transactions secure. The announcement centers on access control and operational safety, framing Agent OS as a tool for structured automation rather than unrestricted execution.
