CZ says he will not charge for brief meetings and warns users not to pay intermediaries
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, said on X on Oct. 12 that he would never charge people for a brief meeting. He added that if he learned someone had paid for a chance to meet him, he would refuse to meet that person. Zhao also warned users not to send money to any intermediary or scammer claiming to arrange access. In the same post, CZ said he cannot meet everyone, but he often sets aside a few one-on-one conversations of about five minutes for community supporters during BBW events. He also said he hopes to meet community members in Thailand in November. His comments came after X user @thevoid_bnb discussed the value of short conversations with well-known industry figures. The user cited Justin Sun’s $4.6 million lunch with Warren Buffett and asked what people would ask if they had a chance to speak with CZ one-on-one for five to 10 minutes. CZ later replied and made clear that he does not offer short meetings in exchange for payment.
