Morgan Stanley’s MSBT has gathered $103 million in net inflows since launching on April 8, surpassing WisdomTree’s $86 million gathered this year. Its 0.14% fee is adding fresh pressure to competition in the spot Bitcoin ETF market.
Grayscale's Mini Bitcoin Trust (ticker BTC) began trading on Wednesday, increasing the number of spot Bitcoin ETFs to 12. Net inflows were a modest $298,930, as inflows from the new trust and BlackRock's IBIT were largely offset by outflows from Fidelity's FBTC.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $11.11 million in net inflows on Thursday, led by Fidelity's FBTC. In contrast, Ether ETFs shed $39.21 million, driven by Grayscale's ETHE. Cumulative net inflows for Bitcoin ETFs stand at $17.33 billion, while Ether ETFs remain in negative territory with $405 million in outflows.
Bitcoin ETFs posted a net inflow of $14.76M on May 1, ending a three-day losing streak, led by BlackRock's IBIT ($26.6M) and Fidelity's FBTC ($19M). Ether ETFs bled $23.64M for a fourth straight day, while XRP and Solana ETFs also saw outflows, reflecting cautious institutional sentiment.
On Monday, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of $541.07 million, marking one of the worst days in recent weeks. Ethereum ETFs also lost $63.22 million. Fidelity FBTC led the decline, while BlackRock IBIT bucked the trend.
Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of $238 million on Monday, marking five consecutive days of positive flows. Ethereum ETFs added $67.77 million for an eighth straight day. XRP and Solana ETFs also saw modest gains.
CME Group, the largest futures and options exchange globally, announced on Oct 31, 2017, plans to launch Bitcoin futures contracts in Q4, cash-settled based on the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate (BRR). This move is seen as a major step toward institutional adoption and potential Bitcoin ETF approval.
Grayscale Bitcoin Trust saw its daily outflow drop to 4,461 BTC on Jan 31, 2024, pushing total holdings below 500,000 BTC. Meanwhile, nine newly launched spot Bitcoin ETFs have collectively amassed 160,661 BTC, signaling a shift in investor preference.
