U.S. stocks close mixed as crypto-linked names surge across the board
U.S. stocks finished Thursday with mixed performance among the major indexes, while crypto-related equities posted broad and sharp gains. According to Techub, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.18% on the day and was down 2.05% for September. The S&P 500 edged up 0.17%, bringing its monthly gain to 0.25%, while the Nasdaq rose 0.39% and was up 1.62% for the month. In precious metals-linked names, Barrick Gold (GOLD) fell 3.03%. Silver-related assets moved higher, with the iShares Silver Trust ETF (SLV) up 1.59% and First Majestic Silver (AG) gaining 2.05%. Crypto concept stocks led the session’s standout moves. Strategy (MSTR) jumped 16.39%, MARA Holdings (MARA) rose 13.75%, and Bit Brother (BTBT) added 13.07%. Coinbase (COIN) climbed 11.66%. Other gainers included Bitmine (BMNR), Riot Platforms (RIOT), Hut 8 (HUT), CleanSpark (CLSK), Cipher Mining (CIFR), and Circle (CRCL), each advancing more than 7.8% on the day.
