Fluid launches DEX v2 beta with $50,000 borrowing cap per asset on new Ethereum contracts

DeFi protocol Fluid has rolled out the beta version of DEX v2, according to ChainCatcher. The new release adds support for custom collateral and debt ranges, introducing more flexible parameter settings for users interacting with the protocol. At the governance level, the newly deployed contracts on Ethereum have been assigned a borrowing cap of $50,000 for each asset. At the same time, pool creation remains restricted. The update outlines both the expanded functionality in the beta release and the current limits placed on the Ethereum deployment.

Three tests, one winner: 0xResearch says SOL is the steadiest Bitcoin amplifier

A market study cited by MarsBit put 10 Bitcoin-linked candidates through three separate tests to answer a simple question: what can outperform Bitcoin without using leverage? The framework split weekly beta into upside and downside readings, compared performance across six full bull legs and nine drawdowns since March 2020, and then checked whether those beta readings were stable enough to reflect real Bitcoin exposure rather than noise. The shortlist narrowed quickly. ETH, SOL, MicroStrategy (MSTR), and Coinbase (COIN) were the only names with two-year beta consistently above 1 while still having most of their moves explained by Bitcoin. Mining stocks remained volatile, but their link to Bitcoin appeared weaker than before. SOL stood out in the second and third tests: it beat Bitcoin in four of five full bull legs, posted a median 3.54x upside multiple, and kept its 180-day beta above 1 on 100% of trading days with a 0.83 correlation. The report still stops short of calling any proxy superior to holding BTC outright. Its bottom line is blunt: if the goal is Bitcoin exposure, the best asset to own is Bitcoin itself. SOL ranked first as the most stable unlevered amplifier, while ETH was described as the better risk-adjusted choice among the alternatives.

Three tests, one winner: 0xResearch says SOL is the steadiest unlevered Bitcoin amplifier

0xResearch set out to answer a familiar market question: in an upswing, which asset can beat Bitcoin without using leverage? Using three separate filters, the study compared 10 candidates across directional beta, performance in six bull legs and nine drawdowns since March 2020, and the stability of 180-day beta over the past two years. The final result put SOL at the top, while ETH stood out as the closer risk-adjusted alternative. The first screen split weekly beta into upside and downside components. Only ETH, SOL, MicroStrategy (MSTR), and Coinbase (COIN) showed two-year beta readings consistently above 1, with Bitcoin explaining most of their price movement. The second screen looked at actual cycle behavior. No asset beat Bitcoin in every full bull leg, but SOL came closest, outperforming in four of five and posting a median multiple of 3.54x. The third screen focused on whether elevated beta reflected real Bitcoin exposure or just noise. On that measure, SOL, MSTR, BMNR, ETH, and COIN cleared the correlation threshold. 0xResearch ultimately called SOL the most stable unlevered Bitcoin amplifier in the group. Even so, the report ended on a restrained note: for investors seeking Bitcoin exposure, the best asset to own is still Bitcoin itself.

Velocity Beta opens to all users after whitelist restriction is removed

Perpetual futures DEX Velocity has removed its whitelist restriction, opening its beta version to all users, according to Odaily. The platform allows traders to use wBTC, wETH, SOL, and USDT as collateral for contract trading under a single account. It also offers up to 20x leverage on selected contracts, while all trades are settled on-chain in USDT. The update expands access to the beta product without changing the core trading structure described in the announcement. Velocity’s setup centers on multi-asset collateral within one account and USDT-denominated on-chain settlement, with leverage availability depending on the specific contract.

US Premarket Brief: Strategy Raised $2.01 Billion but Did Not Buy Any Bitcoin

U.S. equities closed mixed on Aug. 24, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.26% while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq slipped 0.28% and 0.76%, a session the report described as a rotation out of growth and into defensive sectors ahead of a heavy earnings week. Technology shares fell on average while consumer defensive names and gold-linked assets held up better. The report put Strategy (MSTR), formerly MicroStrategy, at the center of the day. The stock rose 2.83% to $122.63, adding about $1.1 billion in market value to roughly $40.6 billion on volume of 41.02 million shares, around twice its daily average. But the sharper point was not the stock move. After issuing 18.26 million new shares last week and raising $2.01 billion, the company did not add any Bitcoin. Of that amount, $1.59 billion was placed into a newly created U.S. dollar cash account, lifting dollar reserves to $5.1 billion, while Bitcoin holdings stayed at 840,447 BTC with an average cost of $75,385 per coin. The article also contrasted Bitcoin’s 22% weekly gain with the uneven response in crypto-linked stocks, where only two of six names finished higher on the day. It then turned to position sizing through beta, highlighting Strategy’s 3.56 beta, and flagged after-hours results from Semtech (SMTC), where investors were expected to focus on data center revenue, CopperEdge customer adoption, and the shipment pace of 1.6T FiberEdge products.

Uniswap Labs launches Pools.trade with no extra launch fee and permanently locked liquidity

Uniswap Labs said on Aug. 6 that Pools.trade, a token launch platform on Robinhood Chain, is now live. The team said community users had already discovered an early version of the smart contracts before the official interface went online and generated more than $150 million in trading volume, which it said showed clear demand for the product. To support both those early test contracts and the formal release, Uniswap Labs upgraded its website and indexing systems at the same time, a change that slightly delayed the launch. The company said Pools.trade does not charge an additional launchpad fee and only keeps the standard protocol fee used across Uniswap v4 pools. It also supports auto-compounding liquidity, a feature the team said will later be extended to regular Uniswap LP positions. Every token launched through the platform uses permanently locked liquidity. Pools.trade offers two launch formats: instant launches and crowd-sale launches based on a simplified CCA mechanism that Uniswap Labs described as fairer and more resistant to bundling attacks. On day one, the platform was integrated with the Uniswap web app, wallet, trading API, third-party trading APIs, and external platforms including Bitget, GMGN, OKX Wallet, and FOMO. The product remains in beta.
