Visa unveils three commercial payment tools covering card growth, virtual card security and automation
Visa announced three new capabilities in San Francisco on Oct. 21 aimed at expanding commercial card usage, tightening security for virtual cards, and automating business payments. The offerings are designed for financial institutions, fintech companies and enterprises. Darren Parslow, global head of Visa Commercial Solutions, said businesses are accelerating automation across payment-related workflows, from identifying supplier opportunities to approving invoices and executing transactions, and that the new capabilities are intended to provide the data, security and controls needed for that shift. The rollout includes SESA 2.0, Visa Commercial Fraud Solutions, and live pilots with billing platform BILL and accounts receivable platform Billtrust. Visa said SESA has helped financial institutions identify more than $600 billion in potential cardable spend since launch. The fraud suite includes supplier verification, 3-D Secure authentication for commercial virtual card users, and transaction-level controls. Visa added that payment controls are already available to eligible issuers in supported markets, while two other features remain in pilot and are scheduled for full launch in 2027.
