CBRS Drops 18% Post-Earnings as Two Whale Shorts Gain $3.65M in an Hour
Cerebras (CBRS) fell sharply after releasing earnings on Wednesday, with its perpetual contract dropping 14.2% in an hour and as much as 18% intraday to $224.64 from $261.81. Despite the upbeat report, the token had already rallied roughly 35% over the previous days to $263, suggesting the good news was priced in. On-chain data from TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight) shows two whale shorts never trimmed before the release and rode the whole drop, combining for a gain of about $3.65 million. The largest short, an address starting with 0x999, held $11.6 million in shorts and gained roughly $1.98 million in one hour. Another address, starting with 0xe0f, held $9.73 million in shorts and made about $1.66 million. No large long whale liquidation has been spotted, though 66 small liquidations hit 61 addresses between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m., with a combined $389,000 in notional value. The single largest was a $105,000 position liquidated with a realized loss of $6,908.
