Bitget’s 8th anniversary letter puts institutional business at the center of its next phase

Bitget marked its eighth anniversary with a public letter from CEO Gracy, who used the occasion to revisit the exchange’s UEX strategy and outline what comes next. She said the plan, introduced a year ago, was met with skepticism at first, and that the team chose to answer those doubts through product launches rather than rhetoric. In the letter, Gracy said UEX was designed to remove fragmentation across assets, accounts, time zones and regions, allowing users to trade global quality assets through a one-stop platform. She also described 2025 to 2026 as the first year of multi-asset trading, pointing to a broader move by leading exchanges into traditional finance products. The letter listed several launches over the past year, including stock perpetual futures, Pre-IPO products, a unified cross-asset account, rToken and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Bitget said non-crypto assets at peak accounted for 40% of total platform trading volume, while daily trading volume in TradFi contracts and CFDs both exceeded $10 billion. Gracy added that institutional business will be the company’s core direction in the next stage, with institutional client net assets up 45% by Q2 2026 from Q3 2025, and core active market makers rising from 90 to 248.

Gate says its RWA perpetual OI share hit 49.6% in August, with 30-day net inflows ranking second among major CEXs

Gate has released its transparency report for August 2026, outlining growth across several trading segments and citing recognition from data providers including CoinDesk, CryptoQuant, CryptoRank and DefiLlama. According to the report, the platform’s stock perpetual futures trading volume rose 308% month over month and has now logged triple-digit growth for three consecutive months. Gate also said its market share in open interest for RWA perpetual contracts reached 49.6%, placing it first among centralized exchanges globally. The report added that Gate recorded about $9.5 billion in 24-hour spot and derivatives trading volume, while total open interest reached $12.48 billion. Both figures ranked in the global top three, according to the company. Over a 30-day period, net inflows came to $308.1 million, which Gate said was enough to rank second among major trading platforms. On the traditional finance side, Gate said its CFD business now covers 680 trading pairs spanning forex, metals, energy, indices and stocks. Across its broader TradFi product lineup, the exchange said it offers more than 1,000 TradFi assets, including stock derivatives linked to more than 360 underlying assets.

Bitget API adds full CFD trading support across gold, forex, stock indexes and oil

Bitget has rolled out full support for CFD trading through its API, extending programmatic trading beyond crypto assets to global markets including gold, foreign exchange, stock indexes and crude oil. The update is aimed at institutional clients and professional traders, who can now manage CFD accounts directly through the API. Available functions include order execution, account queries, fund transfers, real-time market data and risk-control parameters. Under the same API framework, traders can apply existing systematic strategies to traditional financial derivatives markets instead of limiting them to digital assets. Bitget said the upgrade broadens the range of programmatic trading scenarios available on the platform. It also allows traders to incorporate macroeconomic inputs such as Federal Reserve policy, employment and inflation data, as well as oil price moves and stock index volatility, into their models. The platform added that different account modes, including ECN, STP and Pro, can be configured flexibly within the setup, giving professional and institutional users a more complete way to run automated strategies across global markets.

Bitget says August transparency report shows upgrades in institutional products and trading infrastructure

Bitget has released its August 2026 transparency report, outlining fresh developments across its multi-asset trading ecosystem. In the tokenized U.S. equities segment, the exchange said rNVDA posted $38.5 million in single-day trading volume, with more than 4,200 users completing about 112,800 trades. Roughly 36% of that volume took place outside regular U.S. stock market hours, which the company said highlights growing use of rToken products for round-the-clock asset allocation. On the institutional side, Bitget introduced an institutional-grade CFD liquidity solution aimed at quantitative teams, proprietary trading firms, funds, brokers and high-net-worth professional traders. The platform also launched FCN, or Fixed Coupon Note, bringing a traditional structured finance product into the tokenized U.S. stock market. Bitget said it is the first crypto exchange to combine the FCN structure with USDT settlement and U.S. equity rToken delivery. The report also cited third-party data on liquidity and execution. According to DeFiLlama, Bitget recorded the lowest median bid-ask spread at 0.83 basis points in liquidity benchmark tests covering MSTR, SPY, QQQ, CRCL and NVDA spot markets, while also showing the deepest order book depth across all sampled markets. In execution tests covering 36 stock perpetual contracts and eight metals and commodities perpetual contracts, Bitget led in depth on about 90% of trading pairs.

BiFu pitches one-account access to gold and FX as crypto traders look beyond digital assets

Hong Kong SFC Flags Star Bridge Capital Over Unlicensed Operations; Five Arrested

According to a report by CryptoBriefing, Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has placed Star Bridge Capital Group on its official alert list, accusing the firm of carrying out unlicensed securities and futures business in the city. Police said they had received complaints from 54 investors, who said the platform, SBCFX, triggered abnormal forced liquidations in London gold CFD trading on August 19-20, causing losses ranging from about HK$5.92 million to HK$6.63 million. Five suspects, aged 26 to 43, have been arrested and the case is listed as suspected fraud. SBCFX announced on August 24 that it was shutting down its Asia business and told customers to close positions and withdraw funds by early September. The SFC warned that the Australian and South African licenses claimed by the platform carry no legal validity in Hong Kong, and that regulated activities in Hong Kong require an SFC license. It was also reported that some clients had deposited via USDT, which increased the difficulty of tracing the funds.
