Brazil’s CNMP Holds Crypto Asset Recovery and Custody Training With TRON and Tether

Brazil’s National Council of Public Prosecutors, known as CNMP, held a two-day training program in Brasília on Aug. 26 and 27, 2026, focused on crypto asset investigations, recovery, custody, management, and disposal. The program, titled “From Trace to Result: Cooperation in Crypto Asset Recovery and Custody,” brought together prosecutors, judges, law enforcement personnel, public officials, and specialists. Representatives from TRON and Tether also took part. The agenda covered the blockchain ecosystem, interagency cooperation on freezing, seizing, and returning assets, custody models for virtual assets, and public administration of seized virtual assets. It also included cross-border anti-money laundering prevention and sanctions, as well as AML and know-your-customer tools aimed at combating terrorist financing within Brazil’s national financial system. CNMP said the training was designed to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices among institutions and experts involved in the investigation, recovery, management, and disposal of crypto assets, while strengthening interagency cooperation in cases involving crimes tied to virtual assets.
