b14g says 68.1 million CORE recovered after Core hard fork

Bitcoin dual-staking layer b14g said the Core network has completed a hard fork recovery tied to an earlier security incident. According to the team, the event involved about 97.05 million CORE. After the fork, 68,146,177.22 CORE was recovered from three addresses controlled by the attackers. b14g said the recovered funds were moved to a designated recovery address through a one-time state adjustment. The team added that the process did not roll back transactions, did not mint new tokens, and did not change the total supply of CORE. The recovered assets have not yet been distributed to affected users. b14g said it is still working with exchanges and law enforcement agencies to recover the remaining frozen assets, and that it will prepare a transparent distribution plan.

Core DAO says b14g exploit did not affect Core network security

Core DAO said it is aware of the vulnerability affecting bitcoin dual-staking layer b14g and is working closely with the b14g team. The project said the Core network itself remains secure, with consensus, validators, and staking contracts operating normally. It added that CORE staked directly with validators or through other protocols has not been affected. Core DAO also said it is supporting b14g and exchange partners in tracking and freezing funds. According to the statement, most of the stolen CORE remains on the Core chain, while exchanges are freezing deposits linked to the attacker. Earlier, b14g said that at 17:29 Beijing time on Oct. 31, about 97 million CORE staked through b14g was withdrawn without authorization and transferred to an attacker address. The team said it immediately paused the affected contracts after discovering the issue and has been working with the Core team, security partners, and exchanges to trace the funds and coordinate freezing and recovery efforts.

b14g says about 97 million staked CORE were withdrawn without authorization, pauses affected contracts

Bitcoin dual-staking protocol b14g said in a security update that about 97 million CORE staked through the platform were withdrawn without authorization at 09:29 UTC on Oct. 31 and moved to addresses controlled by the attacker. The team said it has paused the affected contracts after detecting the incident and is now working with the Core team, security partners and exchanges to investigate, trace the funds, and coordinate freezing and recovery efforts. According to the project’s current tracing results, about 68 million CORE remain on the Core network, while exchange partners have frozen about 9 million CORE linked to the attacker. b14g said the impacted assets were CORE staked through the protocol, while BTC staked through b14g remains time-locked on the Bitcoin network and was not affected. The team added that its immediate priorities are protecting users and recovering the affected funds, and that it will publish a detailed post-mortem covering the technical cause, scope of impact and follow-up arrangements for affected users.

Bithumb to end trading support for BLUR and CORE on Nov. 30, 2026

Bithumb said it will delist Blur (BLUR) and Core (CORE), ending trading support for both tokens at 15:00 Korea time on Nov. 30, 2026. Withdrawal support will remain available until 15:00 Korea time on Dec. 30, 2026. According to the exchange, materials submitted by the BLUR project team did not sufficiently address issues tied to its designation as a trading warning asset. After reviewing changes to the project’s business plan, execution status, and token use case, Bithumb said BLUR no longer met its standards for continued trading support. CORE was also slated for delisting because the reasons behind its trading warning designation had not been resolved. After the delisting takes effect, API trading support for the two assets will stop and all open orders will be canceled. Bithumb also urged users to withdraw in advance and register whitelist addresses for overseas virtual asset service providers or personal wallets as early as possible. The exchange added that the schedule could change depending on internal circumstances.

Core says it is entering the next phase of decentralization as DAO shifts duties to independent validators

Core, a Bitcoin ecosystem blockchain, said it is moving into the next stage of decentralization. According to the project, the network has maintained zero downtime during the transition since the DAO began handing block production duties to independent validators. Core said decentralization has been part of its direction since genesis, and DAO responsibilities are being gradually transferred to independent community operators. As part of the shift, early contributors Rich Rines and Brendon Sedo will step down from their DAO roles. The project added that the community will take on greater management responsibility across ecosystem building, growth plans, and direction-setting decisions. Over the coming months, Core said more independent operators, community-led projects, and Coretoshi will help shape the network’s next phase.

Lighter launches BTC and ETH binary options on Core

Lighter has rolled out binary options tied to BTC and ETH on Core, according to TheDefiant. The product uses Up/Down contracts in which winning shares pay out 1 USDC. The contracts are fully funded, meaning users must post the full amount upfront rather than trade with borrowed exposure. TheDefiant also said the product does not include leverage and has no liquidation mechanism. In the source page, the outlet noted that its articles are stored on Filecoin. The available source text is brief, and no additional product details, launch timeline beyond the publication timestamp, or trading metrics were disclosed in the input.
