Bonk Guy says he is not an infallible trader and cannot get every call right

Bonk Guy has pushed back again against critics, saying people should not assume he "knows" something or "should know" something simply because of his reputation. The trader said he is, like many others in crypto, just a degen and a regular market participant rather than an all-knowing figure who never makes mistakes. He added that there are many days when he sleeps only two to four hours, and under those conditions mistakes can happen. According to Bonk Guy, his public profile only makes those errors more visible and more heavily scrutinized. Bonk Guy also said his goal has never been to make every single trade correct. Instead, he aims to stay profitable overall by making enough right calls over time. He said that if others believe one of his views is wrong, it would be more useful to point out the mistake and share a better alternative rather than simply attack him, arguing that such an exchange would benefit both sides.

ARK Invest Researcher: Most Robinhood Chain Transactions Come from Degens, Not New Users

Lorenzo Valente, a researcher at ARK Invest, analyzed contract-level data on Robinhood Chain and concluded that most trading activity on the chain is not driven by new crypto users onboarded by Robinhood. Instead, it comes from degen traders using platforms like GMGN and OKX. Valente found that wallet activity confirmed as originating from Robinhood users—specifically swaps via Robinhood Wallet's Settler contract on 0x—accounts for less than 1% of total volume, and even including unidentifiable long-tail trades, the share is around 5%. The rest of the activity mirrors degen behavior observed on other chains. Valente described the situation as "the same degens, just on a new chain." Robinhood Chain is an open, permissionless Layer 2 network, allowing any EVM-compatible wallet or app to connect, meaning on-chain activity does not necessarily indicate new users.

Nick Tomaino says crypto needs a middle ground between builders and hype-driven traders

1confirmation founder Nick Tomaino said the crypto industry’s long-term builders face a marketing problem: they need to stay authentic while learning how to reach and attract Degen users, instead of dismissing speculative culture from a distance. In a post discussing the issue, Tomaino said he has tried to solve that tension for the past 15 years and has failed many times along the way. He added that while people with different asset alignments may see his position as condescending, he does not look down on Degens because he also spent his younger years speculating heavily and taking losses. Tomaino grouped market participants into two broad camps. The first is “true believers,” represented in his view by Ethereum and Coinbase leadership, who have kept building products and infrastructure across multiple cycles with a focus on long-term value rather than short-term attention and capital. The second is “hype men,” including some altcoin project teams, executives and KOLs, who are better at capturing attention, drawing in Degen users and riding hot narratives. He argued that crypto’s direction will depend on which side influences the other more: whether long-term builders can pull speculative users toward building, or whether attention-driven players can move toward creating healthier, positive-sum value over time.
