NYDIG announced the acquisition of Crusoe's bitcoin mining business, including its Digital Flare Mitigation (DFM) technology. Approximately 135 Crusoe employees will join NYDIG with no job cuts. Crusoe has deployed over 425 modular data centers powered by gas flare-generated electricity, mitigating 2.7 million metric tons of CO2. Following the deal, Crusoe will focus on AI infrastructure while NYDIG solidifies its crypto custody, trading, and mining services.

NYDIG has announced plans to acquire Crusoe's bitcoin mining operations, including its Digital Flare Mitigation (DFM) business. Subject to regulatory approvals, approximately 135 Crusoe employees are expected to join NYDIG with no job cuts. Financial terms are undisclosed. Founded in 2018, Crusoe pioneered converting natural gas from oil fields into electricity for modular data centers, initially for bitcoin mining and later for AI workloads. To date, Crusoe has deployed over 425 modular data centers using more than 250 MW of power, mitigating 2.7 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions and preventing nearly 22 billion cubic feet of gas from flaring. Post-acquisition, Crusoe will focus on scaling AI infrastructure, building AI-optimized data centers, and expanding Crusoe Cloud, while continuing to develop energy solutions.
