Strategy said its special shareholder meeting will be held online at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Oct. 28. The record date was set at Sept. 25, and voting will be conducted by holders of common stock. The company had previously said it planned to switch dividends for STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD to daily accruals, and that proposal is set to be voted on at the upcoming meeting. The matter would move forward if it is approved and the required filing is completed, according to the update cited by BlockBeats on Sept. 28.

Strategy seeks shareholder approval for daily dividends on preferred stocks to push STRC closer to $100

Strategy is asking shareholders to approve a shift to daily dividend accrual and payment mechanics for its four U.S.-listed preferred stocks: STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. The vote is scheduled for Oct. 28. Under the proposal, dividends would accrue every calendar day, including weekends and holidays, and be paid on the next business day. The company said the change would affect payment timing only, leaving dividend rates and total regular payouts unchanged. The proposal is aimed mainly at STRC, which has remained below its stated $100 value since May even after moving from monthly to bi-monthly payments in June. During bitcoin’s June sell-off, STRC fell as low as $71. Its annual dividend rate currently stands at 12%. Strategy said the change is intended to support trading closer to $100, while daily payments could shorten the wait for investors to receive and reinvest income and reduce price swings around payment dates. Strategy also said it has spent about $1 billion repurchasing preferred shares under its $2 billion buyback program, including $174 million of STRC in the week ended Sept. 20. As of Monday, the company held 846,000 BTC acquired for $63.80 billion at an average cost of $75,416 per coin.

Strategy Seeks Shareholder Approval to Shift Four Preferred Stocks to Daily Dividends

Strategy has asked shareholders to approve a change that would move dividends on its four U.S.-listed preferred stocks — STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD — to a daily schedule without changing dividend rates or total annual payouts. In a preliminary proxy filed Friday, the bitcoin treasury company said it plans to hold a virtual special meeting on Oct. 28. If approved, every calendar day, including weekends and holidays, would become a dividend record date, with payments made on the next business day. STRC is expected to transition first. Its last semi-monthly record date is projected for Oct. 15, with the first daily record date on Nov. 1 and payment on Nov. 2. STRF, STRK, and STRD are expected to keep quarterly dividends through a Dec. 15 record date, then begin daily payments on Jan. 4, 2027. The filing says daily amounts would be rounded down to the nearest cent, with adjustments on the 15th and at month-end. Only holders of Strategy common stock as of Sept. 25 can vote, while preferred holders cannot. The company says the shift is meant to support price stability, liquidity, and demand. Board materials also point to lower ex-dividend price drops for STRC after its earlier move from monthly to semi-monthly payouts.

Castle opens STRC dividend-to-Bitcoin auto-conversion for individual users

Castle has expanded its automated dividend conversion feature to individual users, allowing them to direct STRC preferred stock dividends into Bitcoin based on preset allocation choices. Users can receive dividends entirely in cash, entirely in Bitcoin, or through a mix of both. The feature had previously been limited to businesses and nonprofit organizations. According to the announcement cited by Techub News, Strategy continues to pay the dividend in cash. Castle then uses the user’s chosen allocation to automatically purchase Bitcoin, meaning the setup does not alter the underlying terms of STRC itself. Castle said the option removes the need for users to manually transfer funds to an exchange before buying BTC. The update broadens access to a feature that was already available on Castle’s platform for institutional-style users, and now brings the same workflow to retail participants seeking automatic Bitcoin exposure through dividend proceeds.

China finance and tax authorities set 20% personal income tax on dividends received by foreign individuals

China’s Ministry of Finance and State Taxation Administration issued an announcement on Sept. 1, stating that from that date, dividends and bonus income received by foreign individuals from foreign-invested enterprises will be subject to personal income tax under the category of interest, dividends, and bonus income, at a 20% rate. The notice also sets out withholding and filing requirements for paying entities. When a foreign-invested enterprise pays such income, it must withhold and remit the tax in accordance with the law and file the tax return by the 15th day of the following month. If the enterprise fails to withhold the tax, the foreign individual must make up the payment by June 30 of the year following the year the income is obtained, unless the tax authority specifies another deadline. At the same time, provisions in a 1994 document that had exempted dividend and bonus income received by foreign individuals from tax have been repealed.
