JPMorgan says Bitcoin ETP inflows are increasingly concentrated as weekly outflows hit $1.126 billion

JPMorgan’s Sept. 8 crypto fund flow report showed that U.S. spot Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana ETPs posted a combined net outflow of $1.126 billion for the week ended Sept. 4, marking a third straight week of withdrawals even as the pace slowed from the prior two weeks. On Sept. 4 alone, spot Bitcoin ETPs saw a net outflow of $175 million, Ethereum ETPs recorded a modest $9 million net inflow, and Solana ETPs posted a $5 million net outflow. The report highlighted a sharp concentration in Bitcoin ETP allocations. BlackRock’s IBIT brought in $118 million and Fidelity’s FBTC added $57 million, while the other spot Bitcoin ETPs tracked by JPMorgan showed no net inflows that day. JPMorgan linked part of that concentration to fee differences, noting that IBIT and FBTC charge 0.25% versus 1.50% for Grayscale’s GBTC. Ethereum ETP flows were split internally, with BlackRock’s ETHA taking in $58 million and Fidelity’s FETH losing $48 million, nearly offsetting one another. Solana ETP outflows came from Bitwise’s BSOL and Fidelity’s FSOL. Despite the recent pullback, cumulative net inflows remained positive at roughly $58.2 billion for Bitcoin ETPs, $12.6 billion for Ethereum ETPs and $1.4 billion for Solana ETPs.

ChainCatcher Morning Brief: Korean memory inventory warning and Hunter Biden’s LAPTOP token plan lead a packed crypto cycle

ChainCatcher’s latest morning roundup spans a wide mix of crypto, macro, security and tech-capex developments from the past 24 hours. Bitcoin slipped nearly 1% to around $79,700 as rising oil prices, linked in the report to an escalation between the U.S. and Iran, added fresh pressure to risk assets. At the same time, spot crypto ETFs kept attracting money, with Bitcoin spot ETFs posting $987 million in weekly net inflows and Ethereum spot ETFs drawing $218 million, both marking a third straight week of net inflows. Beyond price action, several project and security updates stood out. Vitalik Buterin pushed back on claims that AI could break Bitcoin’s security assumptions, while Galaxy Research said roughly 45% of the assets stolen in the Coldcard “Wave 3” incident have now moved into cross-chain or mixing paths. Liquid Network and SideSwap also remained in focus after an exploit involving 4,000 L-BTC, and Blockstream said the vulnerability tied to the incident had been patched. On the corporate and policy front, KB Securities warned that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have memory inventories below 10 days, pointing to a tighter supply picture as AI infrastructure spending expands. The Wall Street Journal separately reported that Hunter Biden plans to launch a meme coin called LAPTOP on Base on Sept. 9, with a detailed token allocation, lockup and burn-or-charity framework tied to preset future events.

PA Daily: OpenAI unveils GPT-6 Astra as Nvidia moves to buy Hugging Face

PA Daily’s latest roundup spans crypto markets, regulation, AI, funding, and whale activity. OpenAI formally introduced GPT-6 Astra and said the model may sit close to the point where artificial general intelligence becomes recognizable in hindsight. Nvidia, meanwhile, agreed to acquire AI platform Hugging Face for about $13 billion, a deal that would put its three French co-founders into the billionaire ranks while preserving Hugging Face’s open-platform model, according to the report. In crypto, spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $731 million in net inflows on Sept. 3 U.S. time, led by BlackRock’s IBIT at $454 million. Spot Ether ETFs added another $141 million. Polymarket launched perpetual contracts across crypto, equities, and commodities, while Ethena said its fee switch proposal passed unanimously, clearing the way for programmatic ENA buybacks. The report also tracks a sharp response from AMC CEO Adam Aron, who said Robinhood’s tokenized stock plan involving AMC and more than 190 companies was unauthorized and unregistered under U.S. securities law. Elsewhere, a Guangzhou court ruled that a virtual-currency lending contract was invalid and said losses should be calculated using acquisition cost. Binance Alpha listings, funding for Diameter Pay, Oura’s U.S. IPO filing, and a series of high-return meme-token trades also featured in the day’s developments.

Bitcoin ETFs Pull In $101.15M as Ethereum and XRP Funds Snap Inflow Streaks

U.S. spot crypto ETF flows split sharply on Wednesday, with Bitcoin funds attracting $101.15 million while spot Ethereum and XRP ETFs both slipped into net outflows after extended winning runs. Data cited by SoSoValue and Decrypt showed Ethereum ETFs ended a 12-session inflow streak that had brought in $1.62 billion, posting a $48.08 million outflow for the day. XRP ETFs also reversed course after 11 straight sessions of inflows, recording a $7.2 million withdrawal after adding about $170 million during that stretch and lifting cumulative inflows to $1.68 billion. Bitcoin funds moved the other way, rebounding from Tuesday’s $236.5 million outflow with fresh inflows led by BlackRock’s IBIT. The divergence extended beyond ETH and XRP, as Solana ETFs also posted outflows, leaving Bitcoin as the only one of the four major crypto ETF categories to advance that day. Decrypt said the pattern pointed less to a broad retreat from crypto and more to capital consolidating into Bitcoin, while also noting market expectations and macro concerns tied to Federal Reserve rate outlooks.
