BIT holds Hong Kong forum on bitcoin cycles, capital rotation and multi-asset allocation

BIT, formerly Matrixport, held an investment opportunity forum in Hong Kong on Aug. 26 during Bitcoin Asia 2026, bringing together institutional investors, family offices, market commentators, media and academics to discuss macro cycles and digital-asset allocation. BIT said it is expanding from a digital-asset-focused platform into a multi-asset digital finance platform, after launching U.S. stock spot trading in February and later adding margin trading, securities lending and options. The company said cumulative trading volume for those products has reached about $4 billion, with HKD deposit and withdrawal support and Hong Kong stock trading planned next. Speakers covered a broad range of themes. BIT analyst Markus Thielen argued that bitcoin’s market structure reflects not only the halving cycle but also a pattern of roughly 35 months up and 12 months of correction, and said the market may be entering a new two- to three-year upcycle. Panelists also debated whether capital is rotating away from AI after the “Magnificent Seven” lost about $2.4 trillion in market value in June, while discussing gold, BTC, RWA and cash-flow-generating assets as alternative destinations. Other sessions examined tokenized U.S. equities, the institutional path for stablecoins and RWA on public blockchains, and the use of structured products to manage digital-asset exposure. In the closing conversation, analyst Phyrex said he expects the Federal Reserve to stay on hold this year and argued bitcoin’s move above $80,000 was driven more by shifting supply and demand than by a surge in new capital.

Switzerland's SRO Model Lets Crypto Firms Complete Compliance Checks in 2-4 Months

Switzerland has built an anti-money-laundering compliance path for crypto companies through self-regulatory organizations (SROs). Smaller exchanges, brokers and custody wallet providers can join an SRO under FINMA's authorization framework, with the SRO reviewing their AML controls. Crypto firms engaged in token exchange, customer wallet custody or payment token issuance must hold a full FINMA license or become SRO members. Four SROs — VQF, PolyReg, ARIF and SO-FIT — supervise most crypto activity; after a company submits its business plan, organizational structure and AML procedures, review typically takes two to four months. In early 2026, the four SROs jointly raised minimum standards for virtual asset service providers, covering transaction monitoring, blockchain analysis and technical controls. The Swiss Federal Council also launched a consultation in late 2025 on new license categories under the Financial Institutions Act for crypto custody, trading infrastructure and payment instrument issuance.

Switzerland Opens AML Route for Crypto Firms via SROs as Four Bodies Tighten Standards

Switzerland is offering crypto companies a route to anti-money laundering compliance through self-regulatory organizations (SROs). The model applies to smaller exchanges, brokers, and custody wallet providers, which can join an SRO under the authorization framework of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). In this setup, the SRO reviews the company's AML controls. Firms acting as financial intermediaries — handling token exchanges, customer wallet custody, or payment token issuance — must hold a full FINMA license or become SRO members. VQF, PolyReg, ARIF, and SO-FIT oversee most of these crypto activities; after a company submits its business plan, organizational structure, and AML procedures, reviews are typically completed in two to four months. In early 2026, the four SROs jointly raised the minimum standards for virtual asset service providers, adding coverage of transaction monitoring, blockchain analysis, and technical controls. At the end of 2025, the Swiss Federal Council launched a consultation on new license categories under the Financial Institutions Act, covering crypto custody, trading infrastructure, and payment token issuance.

Swiss crypto bank AMINA weighs listing options with Cantor as adviser

Swiss digital-asset bank AMINA is working with Wall Street firm Cantor to assess possible routes to the public market, according to BlockBeats. People familiar with the matter said the bank had previously considered listing through a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, but is now leaning toward going public via a reverse merger with a digital asset treasury company, or DAT. The talks are still ongoing and no final decision has been made. AMINA said its current priority is to bring in capital that supports strategic growth rather than pursue a fast listing for its own sake. The bank added that an IPO could still remain an option at a later stage. Founded in 2018 as SEBA Bank, the company rebranded to AMINA in 2023. It is regulated by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, or FINMA, and is one of a small number of licensed banks focused on digital assets. The bank offers crypto trading, custody, staking and lending services, and has expanded into the UAE, Hong Kong and India. BlockBeats said AMINA had CHF 74.6 million in Tier 1 capital as of the end of 2025 and has raised about $245 million in total.
