AI-linked stock meme tokens slide, with ANTHROPIG and MOO among the hardest hit

AI-linked meme tokens tied to public equities and tokenized long positions posted steep 24-hour losses on Sept. 13, according to GMGN data cited by BlockBeats. Artificial Inu (AI), paired with Nvidia stock, fell 27% and was valued at $247 million. MOO, tied to Micron, dropped 37% to a $18 million market cap. Microduck, also linked to Nvidia, lost 26% and stood at $7.3 million, while FLYBRAIN, paired with Google stock, slipped 23% to $9.6 million. UBIK, described as a suspected AI project created by the developer behind aixbt, declined 25% to a $28 million valuation. ANTHROPIG fell 44% to $5.4 million and trades against ANTHROPICx1L, a tokenized 1x long Anthropic position. CATGPT dropped 22% to $6.7 million and trades against OPENAIx1L, a tokenized 1x long OpenAI position. The move came after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the industry must slow the pace of improving AI model capabilities, adding that slower progress does not mean stopping training or technical advancement but allowing enough time for alignment and model protection. OpenAI founder Sam Altman said he agreed.

Coinbase engineer links a simulated fly brain to crypto trading, and it is down nearly $1 after a day

A simulated fruit fly brain is now trading crypto on Coinbase after software engineer Alex Wormuth connected a model of the fly’s working brain to Coinbase’s AI agentic software. The setup can buy, sell, or hold BTC, ETH, USDC, and SOL based on live market prices. According to Protos, the experiment has produced a small loss so far, with the portfolio down by almost $1 after one day of trading. The account currently holds about $59 in USDC, nearly $5 in BTC, $17 in ETH, and $17 in SOL. The project builds on a fly brain map released last week by Google and scientists at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus. They said they mapped an adult male fruit fly’s brain and ventral nerve cord with 166,000 neurons and 125 million synaptic connections, describing it as the largest brain map by number of neurons to date. Protos also described a wave of experiments built on the public data, including simulated driving, Minecraft, Beat Saber, Rubik’s Cube-solving, and other scenarios. The report stressed that these demos are not evidence of consciousness, but interactive uses of the fly connectome.

Google’s open-sourced fruit fly brain map quickly found its way into games, trading bots and a meme coin

Google researchers, working with HHMI Janelia Research Campus and other scientific collaborators, released MaleCNS v1.0 on Sept. 3, the first complete connectome of an adult male fruit fly brain and central nervous system. Published in Cell, the project reconstructed neural wiring from the brain and optic lobes to the ventral nerve cord at single-neuron and synapse resolution. The team said the work, built from millions of 2D electron microscopy slices and extensive human proofreading, identified more than 166,000 neurons, about 125 million synaptic connections and roughly 11,700 neuron types. Once the dataset was opened, developers moved quickly. They plugged simulated fly neural activity into Minecraft, Doom, Beat Saber, a WebGPU browser demo and other experiments. Some pushed it into novelty projects such as short-video stimulation and an interest-rate simulation tied to the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye. Crypto developers then took the idea on-chain: one setup let the simulated fly issue a token, another mapped market data into sensory input for meme-coin trading, and Coinbase software engineer Alex Wormuth connected the fly brain model to BTC trading on Coinbase, where the system started with $100 and was down only 0.59% at the time cited. The most watched crypto offshoot, FLYBRAIN on Robinhood Chain, briefly reached a market capitalization above $55 million before falling to about $27 million.

Gate Adds FLYBRAIN, FRONG and JUGGERNAUT Perpetuals to Robinhood Section

Gate has launched live trading for FLYBRAIN, FRONG and JUGGERNAUT perpetual contracts in its Robinhood section, according to an official announcement cited by ChainCatcher. The contracts are settled in USDT and offer leverage ranging from 1x to 10x. At the same time, Gate has also added trading bot support and copy trading for all three assets. The update covers the derivatives listing itself as well as related trading tools made available on the platform. No other listing details were disclosed in the brief announcement.

Stock-paired meme tokens spread across chains, with Solana emerging as the next battleground

On-chain traders are copying a new meme-token play that pairs meme assets with tokenized stocks, bringing U.S. equity narratives into decentralized trading, according to GMGN. The model has already shown up across several ecosystems, including BSC, Robinhood Chain, and now Solana. On BSC, projects such as 4Stock and Stonks have linked meme trading to assets tied to CEA Industries and the Nasdaq-100 ETF. Robinhood Chain has gone further, expanding its stock-mapping set through projects tied to Nvidia, AMC, and Alphabet. Solana is now seeing the same pattern take hold after Pump.fun opened Custom Pairs, creating a new issuance route for stock-linked meme tokens. Several projects have already reached million-dollar scale, with STONK standing out as one of the largest names in Solana’s stock-paired meme segment. Other names including CTO, TREE, FRIES, and MAXI are also building around tokenized equity pairings, while wallet activity tagged on-chain is beginning to draw attention to early positioning in the sector.

Google’s fruit fly brain map was turned into a Doom test and later a Bitcoin trading bot

Google Research and its partners spent about a decade building MaleCNS v1.0, a full wiring diagram of a male fruit fly’s central nervous system. Announced on Sept. 3, the dataset was described by Google as the brain map with the largest number of neurons ever assembled. It includes 166,691 neurons, about 125 million synaptic connections, and more than 11,700 cell types, while also linking the brain and ventral nerve cord in a single map. Within three days of its release, Coinbase software engineer Alex Wormuth said he was using the full connectome to train a fly brain to play Doom. His open-source project, DOOMFLY, converts each game frame into brightness and color signals, routes them through a simplified neural dynamics system based on the released connectome, and maps neural activity to in-game controls. The project README says the system is still in live training and has not shown that it can survive in the game. Wormuth later adapted the same brain map into Stonkfly, an open-source project that reads candlestick charts and places Bitcoin trades through a Coinbase account. The report also said other developers connected the dataset to Super Mario 64, Beat Saber, and Minecraft within a week of the public release.

FLYBRAIN briefly tops $30 million market cap after Marc Andreessen-linked attention

Robinhood meme coin FLYBRAIN briefly pushed its market cap above $30 million after attention tied to an account followed by Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Marc Andreessen, according to GMGN data. The token’s intraday gain exceeded 670x before its market cap was quoted at $29.3 million. The move highlighted how quickly meme coins can reprice when high-profile names draw market attention. Odaily, which cited the data, also warned that meme coins are highly volatile and can be heavily influenced by celebrity attention and shifts in market sentiment. Traders were advised to stay alert to the risks.
