Jump Crypto2026-09-11 11:28:54Jump Crypto to end Frankendancer support after Alpenglow goes live on Solana mainnetAccording to SolanaFloor, the Firedancer team at Jump Crypto said it will stop supporting Frankendancer, Solana’s transitional validator client, after Alpenglow is activated on the Solana mainnet. The change is expected to arrive with v4.3 in October. The team said the decision was driven by the maintenance and security burden tied to Frankendancer, and that future resources will be directed to the full Firedancer client instead. The update lays out a clear shift in development focus once the mainnet activation takes place, with the team moving away from the interim client and concentrating on the complete version of Firedancer.740
Jito2026-08-12 14:13:37Jito Open-Sources FireBAM, Launches Mainnet Client With Frankendancer and Firedancer SupportJito has announced that its validator client FireBAM is now fully open source, with the mainnet version officially live. The client supports both Frankendancer and the full Firedancer implementation, giving validators access to BAM's verifiable ordering capabilities and integration with Jito Tip and priority fee revenue. According to Jito, validators running FireBAM also qualify for JitoSOL delegation. Under JIP-28, such delegation now requires a BAM-compatible client. Additionally, these nodes are eligible for the JIP-31 subsidy program, under which qualifying participants will receive subsidies in JitoSOL from Jito's protocol income. The update was posted on Jito's official X account. The open-source release and mainnet launch together extend the reach of FireBAM across validator operations. Alongside that, JIP-28 and JIP-31 set out the conditions for delegation and subsidies: one ties delegation to BAM-compatible clients, the other ties subsidies to qualifying FireBAM nodes. FireBAM thus enters mainnet availability with an open-source codebase, and the supported client lineup now spans both Frankendancer and the complete Firedancer client.1610
