Zamanat backs $100 million tokenized private credit fund in DIFC

Zamanat said on Sept. 10 that it is sponsoring Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited, a tokenized private credit fund registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre with a target size of up to $100 million. The fund will focus on private credit opportunities across the Gulf Cooperation Council region, where the company said small and medium-sized enterprises face an estimated $250 billion financing gap and only about 11% can access credit. The vehicle is structured as a closed-ended exempt fund regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority, with Truleum Venture Partners serving as manager and Apex Group providing fund administration services. Fund interests will be issued as ZM1 investment tokens on ZIGChain and offered in a regulated, whitelisted environment to eligible professional investors only. Zamanat said the launch is its first live case of bringing GCC private credit into a regulated digital structure. The company also said the fund is not an Islamic fund and is not being marketed as Shariah-compliant, adding that digital Islamic assets sit within its broader business strategy.

Gas loses ground as blockchains move from VM debates to resource markets and a chain-cloud model

A Foresight market analysis argues that gas is not disappearing, but its role as the single abstraction for blockchain resources is weakening. The article points to four separate tracks that all lead in the same direction: Hyperliquid hides infrastructure costs inside trading fees, Solana is trying to price transaction inclusion separately from actual resource use, Internet Computer prices compute, storage, bandwidth and messaging through cycles tied to XDR, and Ethereum itself is revisiting gas accounting through the Platåberget testnet and proposed changes tied to the Glamsterdam upgrade. In that view, gas is shifting from a core user-facing abstraction to a lower-level settlement layer for resource markets. The piece also argues that the bigger issue may not be gas alone, but the way virtual machines bundle execution, state, resource usage and proving into one model. It contrasts EVM with FuelVM, Sealevel, Move, RISC-V and zkVM, then traces how older chains such as EOS, TRON and Hive had already explored multi-resource accounting. Its broader conclusion is that blockchain design is moving toward explicit resource accounting, pricing, allocation and markets, with the end state looking less like a single chain and more like a protocol-managed, market-priced, cryptographically verified cloud of global compute resources.

ETHShanghai 2026 opens community partner call for global digital nomad groups

ETHShanghai 2026, scheduled for Sept. 22 in Shanghai, is calling for 2 to 5 digital nomad communities from different cities and regions to join the event as community co-build partners. The conference is framed around the theme "Ethereum Renaissance" and aims to examine the values the organizers say have remained central to Ethereum over more than a decade, including openness, collaboration, freedom, autonomy, and new forms of human connection. Rather than asking applicants to present themselves as packaged Web3 projects, the organizers say they want grounded case studies and first-hand stories about how communities actually live, work, organize, and experiment. The call specifically mentions co-living and co-learning spaces, rural initiatives, governance experiments, and teams with demonstrable progress whose founders or core members can attend in person. Selected communities will receive a five-minute Community Showcase slot, an on-site booth, official exposure through ETHShanghai materials and social channels, access to exchanges with Ethereum developers and public goods builders, and post-event documentation of standout cases. Applications close at 23:59 UTC+8 on Sept. 12, 2026.

ETHShanghai 2026 to Open in Shanghai on Sept. 22 Under “Ethereum Renaissance” Theme

ETHShanghai 2026 will take place in Shanghai on Sept. 22 under the theme “Ethereum Renaissance.” The conference will examine Ethereum’s early history, the values the crypto industry may have lost through speculation and attention-driven markets, the relationship between AI and Web3, and possible directions for the ecosystem’s next phase. Its program will also address Ethereum’s changing identity as it works through coordination between Layer 1 and Layer 2 scaling, governance questions, the link between ecosystem growth and ETH value, and its broader role as infrastructure for an on-chain economy. The event will use the CROPS framework of censorship resistance, capture resistance, open source, privacy and security as a recurring set of values. Two roundtables will focus on open-source AI, decentralized compute, data sovereignty, verifiability, agents, autonomous identity and privacy. ETHShanghai has opened global sponsorship applications with Diamond, Platinum and Gold tiers. The event is organized by ETHPanda, PANews and The Excited Few, with support from GCC, Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, LXDAO, Web3Buidler.Tech and ETH HK Hub.

Kevin Warsh faces a policy split as economist warns of either a deeper financial crash or a dollar crisis

Kevin Warsh, described in the source report as the Federal Reserve’s new leader, is being framed by economist aka Shan as facing a binary policy choice with no easy exit. In the analysis cited by Wallstreetcn author Xu Chao, one path is to stay hawkish by keeping rates high, continuing quantitative tightening and pushing toward a balanced budget, a route that could burst what the economist calls overlapping bubbles in AI, housing and private credit and trigger a crisis more severe than 2008. The other path is to return to zero interest rates and quantitative easing under recession pressure, which aka Shan argues would speed up the erosion of the U.S. dollar’s purchasing power and turn a financial problem into a currency problem. The piece also points to long-term inflation pressure, noting that U.S. CPI fell below 2% only twice in the past decade, in 2019 and 2020. To explain the setup, the report uses the Cantillon Effect and lists the expansion in M2, the Federal Reserve balance sheet and U.S. national debt between 2008 and 2020, while arguing that 2022 marked a turning point for commodity prices and inflation dynamics.

Bitget backs UNICEF expansion of Game Changers Coalition into Bangladesh, Indonesia and Bolivia

Bitget said it is supporting the expansion of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition into Bangladesh, Indonesia and Bolivia, taking the initiative’s footprint to 11 countries. The program uses game development to help young people build digital, AI and financial skills, with a stated focus on adolescents in emerging economies and on girls in particular. Bitget joined the coalition in 2025 under a three-year partnership with UNICEF and said it is contributing educational materials, blockchain-focused learning content and mentors from the Web3 ecosystem to support curriculum development. The article said the coalition reached more than 642,000 adolescents, parents and teachers over the past year, with women accounting for 52% of participants. Students have created more than 20,000 games through the program. Bitget also pointed to a National Game Jam in Cambodia in December 2025, where more than 1,000 young creators took part in a 48-hour challenge, and to a previous global UNICEF Game Jam in which Cambodian teams won four awards across seven categories. UNICEF Luxembourg and Bitget executives said the expansion is intended to widen access to 21st century STEAM, financial and digital skills in new markets.

Tether’s Gold-Backed Token XAUT Receives Shariah Certification

Tether said on July 27 that its gold-backed digital asset XAUT has received Shariah compliance certification from Amanah Advisors, a move the company says opens a compliant digital gold investment route for Muslim users, Islamic banks, and institutional investors worldwide. According to Tether, the certification confirms that XAUT aligns with core Islamic finance principles and lets users hold physical gold in digital form through blockchain infrastructure. Each XAUT token represents direct ownership of physical gold stored in a Swiss vault, and the structure does not include interest, leverage, or speculative derivatives. Amanah Advisors said issuer TG Commodities, S.A. de C.V. meets Islamic finance requirements, including actual ownership of physical gold, transparent and verifiable reserves, no interest-based mechanism, and no use of leverage or speculative derivatives. Tether added that gold has long held an important role in Islamic finance and said the certification is expected to support XAUT adoption across GCC countries, South Asia, parts of Africa, and global Islamic finance centers.
