Hyperliquid tops 7-day perpetual DEX notional volume ranking with $48.1 billion

Odaily reported that Hyperliquid led the ranking of perpetual decentralized exchanges by notional trading volume over the past seven days, posting $48.1 billion. Kalshi ranked second with $14.9 billion, followed by trade.xyz at $12.2 billion. Lighter and Aster recorded $11.7 billion and $10.8 billion, while GMX reached $8.8 billion. The rest of the list included edgeX with $6.4 billion, Polymarket with $4 billion, Ondo Finance with $1 billion, and fomo with $853 million. The ranking covers the past seven days and lists 10 platforms by reported notional volume.

On-chain perpetuals hit record open interest as Hyperliquid leads and RWA trading gains ground

A research note from Castle Labs says on-chain perpetual futures are expanding quickly, with open interest at an all-time high and perpetual volume now far larger than spot across major venues. Over the past 30 days, perpetuals accounted for more than 82% of total crypto trading volume, while volume on major venues ran at 4.7 times spot. Centralized exchanges still dominate the category, posting more than $4.56 trillion in perpetual volume over the period versus $614.5 billion for decentralized exchanges, but DEX market share has climbed from 4% in 2024 to above 13%, with a peak above 14.25% in December 2025. The report argues that the market has moved beyond the early design era defined by dYdX and GMX. Hyperliquid now holds more than 56% of total open interest among decentralized perpetual venues, ahead of Aster at 9.7%, Variational at 6.2%, and Lighter at 5.7%. Castle Labs says the next phase of growth is being driven by a mix of platform design, broader distribution, and the rise of real-world asset perpetuals. It points to TradeXYZ’s 24/7 trading of assets such as crude oil and to Hyperliquid’s broader stack, including HyperCore, HyperEVM, HIP-3, HIP-4, builder codes, and HLP, as key pieces in that shift.

ZZZ briefly tops $50 million in market cap, up more than 200% in 24 hours

Odaily, citing GMGN data, reported that ZZZ, a meme token on Robinhood Chain, briefly pushed its market capitalization above $50 million before standing at $46.2 million. The report said the token had gained more than 200% over the past 24 hours. According to the same report, the narrative around ZZZ stems from an independent investigator’s finding that a large number of Wiki pages were edited by the same group. It added that some AI agents inserted “ZZZ” before editing in order to reduce visibility. Odaily also said the token’s deployer may be linked to a GMX team wallet. Odaily included a risk warning, noting that meme token prices can be highly volatile and urging investors to participate with caution.

Kraken Derivatives announced it will delist 77 perpetual contracts on October 1st at 12:00 UTC, covering assets such as 2Z, AEVO, AIXBT, AKT, ANKR, ARKM, AR, BLUR, CELO, ENJ, GMT, GMX, IOTA, MINA, NEO, THETA, VET, ZIL, and ZRX. Additionally, the platform delisted SUN, MTL, IOST, and XVS perpetual contracts on September 3rd, and will delist COTI perpetual contracts on September 7th. All affected contracts will be settled and removed after trading ceases.

GMX launches QQQ and SPY perpetuals on Arbitrum

Decentralized derivatives protocol GMX has rolled out QQQ/USD and SPY/USD perpetual contracts on Arbitrum, opening leveraged long and short exposure to the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 ETFs. The new products allow up to 50x leverage during U.S. market hours and up to 25x outside those hours, while remaining available for 24/7 trading. Users can access the market through multiple chains, including Ethereum, Base, and BNB Chain. Pricing is supplied through Chainlink’s low-latency oracle infrastructure. Each market is backed by a separate GM liquidity pool, and funding rates will adjust dynamically depending on the trading session.
