Bitget expands proof-of-reserves coverage to 19 assets, adding 15 more for verification

Bitget said it has upgraded its Proof of Reserves system, expanding the number of verifiable assets from four cryptocurrencies to 19 major assets. The exchange said the broader scope will allow more users to check whether their holdings are included in reserve snapshots, while the platform will also publish reserve data for each supported asset. Under the update, users can review reserve ratios, total user assets, and the public blockchain networks where those assets are distributed. Bitget also extended its Proof of Assets feature to the same list, allowing users to verify inclusion in a specific PoR snapshot through a Merkle Tree process. The platform said it provides Merkle hash data, snapshot information, and related records for users who want to conduct deeper checks. Bitget said it has published monthly PoR reports since December 2022. As of August 2026, it had released 45 consecutive reports, with the latest showing an overall reserve ratio of 122%, above the 1:1 reserve standard. CEO Gracy Chen said users should be able to verify asset backing themselves rather than rely only on the platform’s statements.

Bitget marks eighth anniversary with UEX push, names institutional trading a year-nine priority

Bitget used its eighth anniversary to outline how its Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy is expanding beyond crypto into a broader trading setup that includes traditional financial products and institutional services. The company said that during peak trading periods, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of total platform volume, while daily volume in TradFi perpetuals and contracts for difference each topped $10 billion. It also highlighted the rollout of stock perpetuals, U.S. stock options and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts, alongside growth in its tokenized stock product rToken. According to the company, rToken surpassed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch and has now recorded more than 3 million cumulative trades. Bitget also said one in four new users on the platform starts trading with rToken. On the risk and transparency side, the exchange expanded the number of verifiable assets in its Proof of Reserves program from four to 24, while its Protection Fund had an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026. Looking ahead, Bitget said institutional trading services will be a major focus in its ninth year, after institutional client net assets rose 45% from the end of 2025 to the second quarter of 2026 and core active market makers increased from 90 to 248.

Bitget marks eighth anniversary with UEX push, stronger TradFi volumes and a bigger institutional focus

Bitget used its eighth anniversary to outline how its Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy is reshaping the platform across crypto, tokenized assets and institutional trading. The exchange said that at peak periods, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of total trading volume, while daily volume in TradFi perpetuals and contracts for difference each topped $10 billion. It also highlighted progress in newer products: tokenized stock product rToken surpassed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch, and cumulative trades have now exceeded 3 million. According to the company, one in four new Bitget users now starts trading with rToken. Alongside product expansion, Bitget said it has widened the verifiable asset scope of its Proof of Reserves program from four assets to 24. The company added that its Protection Fund had an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026. Looking ahead to its ninth year, Bitget said institutional services will become a central priority, with net assets from institutional clients up 45% from the end of 2025 as of the second quarter of 2026, and the number of core active market makers rising from 90 to 248. Bitget’s 8th anniversary letter puts institutional business at the center of its next phase

Bitget marked its eighth anniversary with a public letter from CEO Gracy, who used the occasion to revisit the exchange’s UEX strategy and outline what comes next. She said the plan, introduced a year ago, was met with skepticism at first, and that the team chose to answer those doubts through product launches rather than rhetoric. In the letter, Gracy said UEX was designed to remove fragmentation across assets, accounts, time zones and regions, allowing users to trade global quality assets through a one-stop platform. She also described 2025 to 2026 as the first year of multi-asset trading, pointing to a broader move by leading exchanges into traditional finance products. The letter listed several launches over the past year, including stock perpetual futures, Pre-IPO products, a unified cross-asset account, rToken and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Bitget said non-crypto assets at peak accounted for 40% of total platform trading volume, while daily trading volume in TradFi contracts and CFDs both exceeded $10 billion. Gracy added that institutional business will be the company’s core direction in the next stage, with institutional client net assets up 45% by Q2 2026 from Q3 2025, and core active market makers rising from 90 to 248.

Bitget CEO Gracy says multi-asset trading era is just beginning in 8th anniversary letter

Bitget marked its eighth anniversary with a public letter from CEO Gracy, who used the occasion to defend the exchange’s Universal Exchange, or UEX, strategy and outline what she sees as the next stage of competition in trading platforms. Gracy said the idea behind UEX was to remove fragmentation across assets, accounts, time zones and regions so users could access global quality assets through a single trading venue. In the letter, she said Bitget spent the past year answering skepticism with product launches rather than rhetoric. She described 2025 to 2026 as the “first year of multi-asset trading,” pointing to a broader move by leading exchanges into traditional finance products. The company rolled out stock perpetual futures, Pre-IPO products, a cross-asset unified account, rToken and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Gracy also disclosed operating figures tied to that push. Non-crypto assets at peak accounted for 40% of total platform trading volume. Daily trading volume for TradFi contracts and CFDs each surpassed $10 billion, while cumulative rToken trades exceeded 3 million. On institutional expansion, she said Bitget will make that business a core focus. As of the second quarter of 2026, net assets held by institutional clients were up 45% from the third quarter of 2025, and the number of core active market makers increased from 90 to 248.

Bitget says its user protection fund averaged $382 million in August

Bitget has released its latest Protection Fund report, saying the exchange’s user protection fund carried an average valuation of $382 million in August 2026 as Bitcoin strengthened in the second half of the month. The fund reached a monthly high of $441.5 million on Aug. 27 and a low of $345.3 million on Aug. 1, while remaining above Bitget’s originally pledged $300 million size throughout the month. According to the report, the reserve is backed by 5,500 BTC held by Bitget. The company said Bitcoin traded between $62,773 and $80,268 during August. After a relatively steady start to the month, BTC climbed in the second half, briefly moving above $80,000 before pulling back by month-end. Bitget said Bitcoin rose from $62,773 on Aug. 1 to $78,553 on Aug. 31, a gain of more than 25%, helping lift the BTC-heavy fund to about $432 million by the end of the month. Bitget also framed the fund as part of a broader risk protection setup alongside its Proof of Reserves system. CEO Gracy Chen said strong market conditions do not reduce the need for safeguards, adding that on-chain reserves and public disclosure remain central to user protection and trust.

Bitget adds Nasdaq’s official market data feed for stock-linked products

Bitget said it has integrated Nasdaq’s official market data feed, replacing a third-party aggregated source for its U.S. stock-related products and making it, in the company’s description, the first crypto platform in the industry to adopt that standard. The exchange said the change is aimed at improving the quality, traceability and consistency of market information, especially during periods of heavy activity such as the U.S. market open, earnings releases and major economic data announcements. Bitget also said it has put monitoring, verification and abnormal-data control mechanisms in place as part of the upgrade. The company stressed that the change only affects the source of market data and does not alter its existing order matching, trading execution or settlement structure, with no additional action required from users. CEO Gracy Chen said the move is part of Bitget’s Universal Exchange strategy, which focuses on expanding tradable assets while building out the infrastructure needed to support both crypto and traditional financial markets in one trading environment. The company also reiterated details about its broader platform and wallet operations, including user counts, supported assets and its $300 million user protection fund for Bitget Wallet.
