Wonder tops $3 billion in funding, lines up creator food platform launch as IPO plans take shape
Food-tech startup Wonder has raised more than $3 billion and reached a valuation above $9 billion, with Google Ventures listed among its backers. In an interview cited by CNBC, the company described a model that combines automated kitchen operations, physical food halls and a delivery platform under one vertically integrated system. Wonder has also spent more than $1 billion on acquisitions, including Blue Apron for $103 million and GrubHub for $650 million, while expanding its operating footprint to 170 locations. The company said it bought kitchen automation maker Spice for $186 million at the end of 2025, adding an "Infinite Makeline" system that can handle 68 prepared ingredients and produce as many as 500 meals an hour. Wonder plans to launch WonderCreate in November, allowing individual users to build food brands for a $10 monthly fee and share in revenue, while the company continues moving toward an initial public offering.
