Haotian says Robinhood’s next phase hinges on Hooks, agent trading and tokenized stock DeFi

Amber Group advisor Haotian said Robinhood Chain’s first wave was driven by meme tokens, launchpads and PONS-style traffic, but the next leg will need infrastructure rather than another round of short-lived speculation. In a conversation hosted by 168X on Oct. 14, 2026, he described the broader market as an early bull phase marked by tentative liquidity returning, weak consensus and intense PvP trading. In that setup, he argued, saying a bull market has started does not mean altcoins will rise together or that profits become easy. Haotian said investors should be cautious about pricing in rumors around a potential nine-digit Robinhood ecosystem grant before any official rollout. Even if a $100 million program materializes, he said the amount matters less than how capital and platform resources are allocated. He also warned that Robinhood Chain’s first 100-day metrics, including more than 190 stock tokens, 200,000 holders, presence in 120-plus countries and regions, roughly $15 billion in stock-token DEX volume, and $1 billion in TVL, do not by themselves prove durable ecosystem strength. What he wants to see is whether tokenized stocks actually accumulate on-chain and outpace rivals such as xStocks and Ondo. For the months ahead, he pointed to Hooks, agent trading and tokenized stock DeFi as the most important Robinhood themes, while saying secondary-market selection has shifted away from high FDV and VC backing toward PMF, new trends and fresh market consensus.

Haotian says BitMEX and BitMart closures point to an active CEX shakeout under tighter compliance pressure

Crypto researcher Haotian said the successive closures of BitMEX and BitMart should not be read as a simple sign of centralized exchange failures or as a signal that a new bull market is forming. In his view, the developments reflect an active shakeout driven by intensifying competition among centralized exchanges as compliance standards rise. He said the core battleground for CEXs has shifted toward licensing, proof of reserves, and KYC/AML requirements. At the same time, exchanges are moving into tokenized U.S. equities and other traditional finance, or TradFi, assets in search of new revenue streams. Haotian added that this shift also means pricing power in traditional crypto trading is gradually slipping away. For smaller exchanges, he said survival now depends on finding a differentiated position. That could mean focusing on licenses and localized services in specific regions, specializing in products such as TradFi assets, perpetuals, or RWAFi, or leaning fully into crypto-native narratives including DeFi, the Agentic Economy, and MEMEs. He said continued homogenous competition will only speed up the industry’s elimination cycle, though clearing out weaker players is not necessarily a bad thing.
