Glassnode says privacy coins are the year’s standout as most crypto sectors remain below prior highs

Glassnode’s latest market breakdown shows a sharp split inside crypto performance over the past year. Bitcoin is down 36% from its October 2025 all-time high, and the median drawdown across the top 200 digital assets by market capitalization stands at 58%. Yet the privacy coin segment has moved the other way, rising 213% and becoming the only sector to push above its previous peak. The report says the market value of privacy coins in the top 200 climbed from $7.1 billion a year ago to $33.6 billion, with nearly half of that increase arriving in the past 30 days. Zcash (ZEC) drove much of the move, surging 2,496% over the period and accounting for 62% of the sector’s market cap. Monero (XMR), Dash (DASH), and Horizen (ZEN) also outperformed Bitcoin over the last 90 days. Glassnode adds that the latest 30-day rally has been broad, with 91.5% of the top 200 assets posting gains, the widest monthly rebound in that dataset. Even so, only 25 assets are up on a one-year basis, which points to a market where gains have been concentrated rather than evenly shared.

HTX weekly gainers: ARB jumped 111% as privacy tokens and DeFi names also advanced

HTX’s weekly performance table for Aug. 31 to Sept. 6 showed broad strength across several crypto sectors, with Layer 2, Solana ecosystem tokens, privacy coins, DeFi assets and BSC meme names all posting notable moves. ARB, the governance token of Arbitrum, led the exchange’s weekly gainers with a 111% rise, making it the strongest performer on the list and drawing renewed attention to Ethereum scaling infrastructure. RAY, the native token of Solana-based decentralized exchange Raydium, climbed 61%, reflecting continued activity in the Solana ecosystem and demand for DeFi protocols with active on-chain use cases. Privacy-focused tokens formed one of the clearest sector trends of the week. DASH rose 61%, while ZEC gained 37% and ZEN added 36%, putting three privacy-related assets on the leaderboard at the same time. HTX’s data also showed gains in established DeFi names, with UNI up 35% and JST up 18%. MARSCOIN, described in the source as a BSC meme asset, rose 37%, indicating that higher-beta segments remained active as market risk appetite improved. The original report said market attention had spread from a single narrative to multiple sub-sectors, with funds rotating between high-volatility themes such as meme and privacy tokens and infrastructure areas including L2, DeFi and public-chain ecosystems.
