On-chain reputation platform Talent Protocol said it has been acquired by Interplanetary Talent Services, or IPTS, in a deal backed by Protocol Labs, though no purchase price was disclosed. The company said it will wind down its commercial operations after the transaction, with its API, Talent+ product and social media channels set to shut by the end of August. Talent Protocol also said its team members will not join IPTS or Protocol Labs, and that the TALENT token is not part of the acquisition. IPTS will receive a portion of Talent Protocol’s reputation data to help match developers with roles in artificial intelligence, crypto, hardware and life sciences. At the same time, Builder Score will be turned into a public good that runs locally in a browser, is calculated from public data on GitHub and four blockchains, and produces verifiable results that developers can publish on Base as proof.
