Taiwan Century Map lets users compare modern addresses with historical maps from 1904 to 2003

Entrepreneur Brothers co-founder Kuo Chia-chi has built a website called "Taiwan Century Map" that lets users enter a Taiwan address and compare it against historical maps spanning six periods from 1904 to 2003. The service uses map layers from Academia Sinica’s GIS Center through its publicly available WMTS service. According to the report, the WMTS endpoint is open for direct use and does not require an API key or separate licensing process. BlockTempo tested three locations — Taipei 101, Hsinchu Science Park, and the Taipei Main Station shopping area — and found that the site classified all three as "paddy and dry-field cultivation areas." The first two broadly matched historical conditions, but the Taipei Main Station result appeared inconsistent with the 1904 map, where urban blocks and building lines were already visible. The report also noted that the underlying WMTS service currently offers 218 layers, while the website uses only six, leaving a much larger archive of historical materials available for potential reuse.

Russia's Top Three Telecom Operators to Accept Digital Ruble Payments Starting September 1

Russia's major telecom operators MTS, Rostelecom, and Megafon have announced they will begin accepting digital ruble payments from September 1. MTS will enable digital ruble use across all services within MTS Pay with no category restrictions. Rostelecom will initially support one-time payments on its website, with expansion to personal accounts planned later. E-commerce platforms Wildberries and Ozon will also launch digital ruble payments on the same date. Under Russian law, all large enterprises must be able to process digital ruble transactions from September 1, and 12 systemically important banks must integrate digital ruble wallet access into their apps. The central bank plans to cap monthly wallet top-ups at 300,000 rubles per bank.

SK Hynix ADR premium hits 51% as cross-market arbitrage stays shut until July 29

SK Hynix’s newly listed American depositary receipts have surged far beyond their South Korea-listed common shares, with the premium widening to 51% after only three trading days. On Tuesday alone, the ADR jumped 27%, a sharp move from the roughly 3% gap seen at issuance, when the company raised $26.5 billion through the ADR sale. Options trading in the U.S. has also started, and short-dated call options have become the busiest part of the market, adding to the momentum. The premium has persisted because the mechanism that would normally connect the two markets is not yet available. Korea Securities Depository said the local new shares tied to the ADR issuance are expected to list on July 29, and applications to convert between local shares and ADRs can only be submitted after that date. Even after the channel opens, conversion rules remain uneven: ADRs can be canceled into local shares without a quantity cap, while local shares can be turned into ADRs only within the issuer’s issuance ceiling. Retail investors also cannot complete the process through MTS or HTS, leaving the trade largely out of reach for individuals.

Crypto Morning Brief: Saylor Opposes BIP 110, Forbes Names 10 Crypto Assets Worth Watching

Crypto markets saw a dense mix of policy, market structure, and on-chain developments over the past 24 hours. Michael Saylor and Blockstream co-founder Adam Back publicly pushed back against Bitcoin proposal BIP 110, arguing that the measure would undermine Bitcoin’s decentralization and neutrality. At the same time, Forbes released a list of 10 cryptocurrencies it considers worth investing in, including BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, SOL, TRX, HYPE, RAIN, LEO, and ZEC, using utility, store-of-value characteristics, seven-day performance, and 24-hour trading volume as screening criteria. On the regulatory side, Coinbase chief policy officer Faryar Shirzad said the CLARITY Act would place digital asset platforms under stronger oversight rather than weaken national security, responding to criticism from Senator Elizabeth Warren. Separately, The Hill reported that U.S. Senate leaders are targeting the week of July 20 for floor consideration of the bill, though bipartisan disagreements remain. Market data also remained in focus. CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler said short-term Bitcoin holders still show stronger buy-side pressure than sell-side pressure, even as both cool slightly, while recent ETF inflows are still too small to confirm a reversal in institutional demand. Coinglass data showed $76.96 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, with short liquidations outpacing longs. Other notable developments included new claims in the Qian Zhimin 60,000 BTC case, renewed accusations from ZachXBT over LAB token selling, and a rare full Bitcoin block mined by a single-chip Bitaxe ASIC machine.
