BlackRock’s BUIDL expands multi-chain liquidity infrastructure

BlackRock’s tokenized asset fund BUIDL has announced an expansion of its multi-chain liquidity infrastructure, according to a Techub News brief citing Bitcoinist. The move is intended to broaden activity across the digital asset ecosystem and provide what the report described as key development support for market participants. The upgrade also points to a strategic shift toward operations that are more scalable and more transparent. In the same report, analysts said ongoing technical upgrades will play a central role over the next quarter in maintaining user confidence and market stability. The item did not disclose further implementation details, but it framed the infrastructure expansion as part of BUIDL’s broader push to strengthen its operating setup across multiple chains.

DeFi protocol Aero to launch across seven chains on Oct. 21

Aero, a decentralized finance protocol, said it will officially launch on Oct. 21 and go live on seven blockchains at the same time. The networks named in the announcement include Ethereum, Arbitrum and Optimism. Techub, citing Crypto Briefing, reported that the multi-chain rollout is intended to improve interoperability in DeFi. The report also said the launch could broaden Aero’s market reach and support liquidity across different networks. No additional chains beyond those examples were named in the brief, and no further rollout details were disclosed in the source material.

NEAR tops $3.1 with a 16.3% 24-hour gain as its repositioning draws market attention

NEAR briefly moved above $3.1 on Sept. 18 and was last quoted at $3.1074, up 16.3% over the previous 24 hours, according to market data from HTX. The price move came as attention stayed on NEAR’s strategic repositioning, which BlockBeats had previously described as a shift away from the project’s earlier high-performance Layer 1 narrative. In that earlier framing, NEAR is recasting itself as underlying infrastructure for multi-chain trading and AI agents. The idea is that users would not need to understand blockchain’s underlying complexity, while wallets and agents could automatically handle cross-chain transfers, swaps, and payments. That change also reframes how the market may look at the project. Instead of centering on throughput as a standalone Layer 1 story, the focus highlighted by BlockBeats has moved toward chain abstraction, cross-chain settlement, and infrastructure for AI agents, with NEAR seeking a larger growth opportunity across the broader multi-chain ecosystem.

Gate to fully integrate Circle's Arc network on Sept. 16 as it expands multi-chain Web3 services

Gate said it will fully integrate Arc, the public blockchain from Circle, on Sept. 16, extending support across several of its core Web3 products. The rollout will cover Trenches, Gate Wallet and on-chain market data features, giving users a single workflow that spans asset discovery, market tracking, wallet management and on-chain trading. Users will be able to access Arc-related functions through the Gate app and Gate Web3 pages. Gate Web3 has already completed integration of Arc's core trading capabilities, according to the announcement. The platform will support viewing Arc-based asset prices, token swaps and professional trading, while also connecting to Uniswap V2, V3 and V4 to bring in additional liquidity. Gate Wallet will support asset management on Arc and DApp interaction. Trenches will also add Arc support and will exclusively offer 0 Gas trading on the network, aimed at helping users spot trending and newly issued tokens and move from discovery to execution more quickly. Gate described the Arc rollout as another step in building out its multi-chain Web3 infrastructure and said it will keep expanding connections with public blockchain ecosystems while improving discovery, trading and cross-chain services.

MetaMask adds support for connecting to TRON dApps, with four ecosystem projects featured first

MetaMask said on Sept. 11 that it now supports connections to TRON decentralized applications, opening another route into a broader multi-chain environment. In its latest DApp Spotlight, the wallet featured several TRON ecosystem projects as early selections: B.AI, an AI Agent infrastructure project; SUN.io, a liquidity infrastructure platform; JustLend DAO, a DeFi lending platform; and BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer file-sharing protocol. The selected applications span three areas named in the announcement: artificial intelligence, decentralized finance, and file storage. MetaMask users can now access those dApps through the wallet and use on-chain services tied to AI, DeFi, and decentralized storage. According to the announcement cited by Odaily, the integration expands accessibility within the TRON ecosystem and gives global users a smoother way to interact across multiple chains.

Coinbase renames Base App back to Coinbase Wallet and shifts focus to multi-chain trading

Coinbase said it is renaming Base App back to Coinbase Wallet, reversing a branding move made a year ago as it refocuses the self-custody product on trading and broader multi-chain access. Ryan Kass, head of Coinbase Wallet, said the app will serve as a "test kitchen" for products and assets not yet offered on Coinbase’s centralized exchange. The first example is perpetual contracts powered by Hyperliquid. Kass also said the wallet supports long-tail assets and will add support for new chains as they go live. Coinbase said the return to the Coinbase Wallet name reflects how the app has evolved into a broader multi-chain trading platform. The wallet also supports prediction markets and tokenized stocks. In promoting the product, Coinbase highlighted "no KYC, no waiting, no borders," saying users can begin trading within minutes of downloading the app, though some features remain subject to regional restrictions. The company added that the wallet will automatically detect and hide scam or malicious tokens, while new markets and asset classes must still pass strict product and compliance reviews before launch. The move reverses Coinbase’s July 2025 decision to rename Coinbase Wallet as Base App and frame it as an all-in-one app combining social features, mini apps, messaging, payments, and trading. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in March this year that the social experiment was "not very successful," and Base creator Jesse Pollak later handed app leadership to Jordan "Cobie" Fish.
