Pokemon's Official X Account Hijacked to Push Fake $POKEMON Token
The official Pokemon X account was compromised on Aug. 27, with hackers holding control for 30 minutes to promote a fraudulent $POKEMON token. The attackers leveraged the franchise's 30th anniversary to post bogus tweets and spoofed links, and the incident came during the Pokemon World Championships to boost credibility. The Pokemon Company regained control, deleted unauthorized posts, and distanced itself from any crypto project. No financial loss figures have been disclosed so far.
