SGX wins CFTC approval to offer crypto perpetual futures to U.S. institutions

Singapore Exchange, or SGX, has received approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer cryptocurrency perpetual futures contracts to institutional investors in the United States, according to a Techub News brief citing Crypto Briefing. The approval gives U.S. institutions access to another regulated route for trading crypto derivatives, a segment that has drawn growing institutional interest. The report also said the move could challenge the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, or CME, which currently holds a leading position in this market. No additional product details, launch timeline, or contract terms were disclosed in the brief.

SGX opens bitcoin and ether perpetual futures to U.S. institutions

Singapore Exchange said U.S. institutions can now trade its bitcoin and ether perpetual futures, expanding access to the venue’s crypto derivatives offering. The exchange described the move as a milestone linking U.S. trading desks with Asian liquidity. The update centers on bitcoin and ether perpetual futures listed by SGX and signals that institutional participants in the U.S. are now eligible to take part in that market. CoinDesk reported the development on Sept. 10.

After the KelpDAO exploit, the harder question is who verifies what AI agents see and sign

The April 18, 2026 exploit of KelpDAO’s rsETH bridge exposed a familiar weakness in crypto systems: the failure point was not core cryptography, but the chain of authority around who could sign, what data they relied on, and how those checks were configured. According to LayerZero’s incident report, attackers used social engineering to obtain a developer session key, poisoned an internal RPC used by LayerZero Labs’ DVN, and suppressed external RPC endpoints with a denial-of-service attack, leading the signing service to certify forged messages. KelpDAO had also shifted its validation path from 2-of-2 to 1-of-1 DVN, removing an independent cross-check. CrowdStrike and Mandiant attributed the attack with high confidence to the North Korea-linked TraderTraitor group, also tracked as UNC4899. The article argues that this matters even more as AI agents gain onchain execution power through smart accounts, strategy wallets, and limited signing services. A valid signature can show that an authorized path was invoked, but not that the input data was sound, the decision matched policy, or the trade should have happened at that moment. It reviews the limits of oracles, dispute resolution, multisig bridges, MPC custody, and TEE-based systems, then examines DeepSafe’s CRVA design, which combines hidden committee selection, Ring-VRF, threshold MPC, and TEE. The model aims to reduce validator exposure and signing concentration, but it does not automatically determine whether the result being verified is actually correct.

SGX Explores Single-Stock and Leveraged ETFs, Streamlines Dual Listing With Nasdaq

Singapore Exchange (SGX) chief executive Loh Boon Chye said the bourse is weighing an expansion of its exchange-traded fund range and could look at single-stock and leveraged ETF products if market demand supports them. Loh made the remarks in a recent interview, reported by Bloomberg and carried by Odaily. According to the figures cited, SGX currently lists 53 ETFs, with assets under management of more than S$21 billion — equivalent to roughly US$16.4 billion. Loh said the possible additions to the ETF lineup would hinge on whether market demand exists, without detailing a timeline or specific product structures. Alongside potential new products, SGX is strengthening cooperation with other markets. With Nasdaq, the exchange is working to simplify the eligibility and process for companies conducting dual listings in Singapore and the United States at the same time. With the Stock Exchange of Thailand, SGX is pursuing a depositary receipt collaboration. The update is based on Loh's interview remarks, as reported by Bloomberg.

ChainFeeds PRO reviews Ethereum multi-dimensional gas design, PoS security models, and oracle silence

ChainFeeds Research’s PRO issue #154 pulls together several research threads across Bitcoin and Ethereum. The report highlights Fei Wu’s work on Ethereum’s post-Glamsterdam fee market, where EIP-8037 and EIP-7999 would shift gas pricing from a single-meter model to separate pricing for execution, data, and state creation. Using historical gas changes, the study models demand curves for each resource and finds different elasticities: execution is least sensitive to price, data sits in the middle, and state creation is the most sensitive. Under higher block capacity, state creation could become the new fee bottleneck. On Bitcoin, the report covers josh’s HTLC design aimed at removing reliance on mempool-based preimage monitoring and the free-relay assumption, as well as a staletip P2P message proposed by Ram and w0xlt to improve visibility into stale blocks. On Ethereum research, Hudu Yusuf questions whether stake weight truly reflects effective consensus weight and whether continuous oracle output is always safer than silence, proposing DW-BFT and a structured-silence model. The issue also includes Sidistr’s Arcanum, a compiler-layer approach for keeping source code hidden through a TEE-to-ZK roadmap, and a paper from Old Dominion University on what drives contentious Bitcoin soft forks toward orderly upgrades or lasting chain splits.
