TRON to vote on TVM compatibility upgrade on Aug. 25

TRON plans to hold a vote on Aug. 25 for a compatibility upgrade to the TRON Virtual Machine, or TVM. According to Techub, citing Crypto Briefing, the proposed change is designed to bring the network closer to Ethereum Virtual Machine standards. The stated goal is to improve cross-chain interoperability while making TRON more appealing to developers looking for cross-platform solutions. The update centers on compatibility rather than a broader network overhaul, based on the information provided. If approved through the planned vote, the move would position TRON to align more closely with Ethereum’s virtual machine framework in the areas described by the report. No further technical details or implementation timeline were disclosed in the source digest.

Noxos says part of Coinsbuy exploit funds reached HitBTC and BingX

Blockchain investigation firm Noxos Intelligence said it has further confirmed, using its HYDRA engine, that part of the funds linked to the Coinsbuy hack ended up at HitBTC and BingX. According to the firm’s post on X, HitBTC directly received 30 ETH from the compromised wallet, while BingX received 100 ETH that moved through multiple intermediary addresses. Noxos added that more extensive tracing results are still being verified internally. The update adds to earlier monitoring cited by Foresight News. In that earlier report, on-chain analyst Specter said wallets associated with Coinsbuy were attacked on Ethereum and TRON, with losses exceeding $7.9 million. The latest disclosure does not provide further details beyond the two exchanges and the ETH amounts traced so far.

PANews weekly roundup: Manus reverses course, Harmony hit again, Kalshi seeks new funding

PANews’ weekly roundup pulled together a wide range of crypto and adjacent-market stories, spanning AI, macro strategy, institutional views and Web3 developments. Among the biggest items, the reported Manus-Meta acquisition was reversed after a Ministry of Commerce ban, leaving Manus to resume independent operations with annual recurring revenue of $300 million and no staff departures, according to PANews’ summary. Riot’s $9.1 billion compute deal with Anthropic highlighted how bitcoin miners are being revalued as AI infrastructure providers rather than pure mining businesses. The selection also tracked major market and sector calls. PANews said U.S. stocks and gold rose together while bitcoin lagged despite ETF inflows, and cited views from Arthur Hayes, JPMorgan and Hash Global on liquidity, commodities and the late-bear-market setup. On the institutional side, the roundup featured commentary from Kalshi’s CEO, Bitwise’s CIO, 1confirmation, investor Lao Bai and VanEck’s research head. In Web3, ENS DAO passed its “Next Era” proposal, more than 78 projects had shut down since the start of 2025 after consuming over $900 million in funding, and Harmony suffered another exploit that allegedly led to the illicit minting of more than 3 trillion ONE tokens and a 38% price drop. The roundup also noted Kalshi’s talks to raise $750 million at a $40 billion valuation, Tether’s first full independent audit, and several other market headlines.

fomo co-founder Se Yong says platform has 1.3 million users and is betting on mobile social trading

fomo co-founder Se Yong said in an Aug. 12 interview that the social meme trading platform has reached about 1.3 million users and is adding roughly 30,000 new users a day. He said the company is not trying to become a traditional pro-grade meme trading terminal. Instead, it wants to simplify cross-chain trading, make trust visible through public rankings, and turn trading into a social product that can reach users beyond crypto-native circles. In the interview, Se Yong also described how he first entered crypto through trading on Avalanche in 2021, how painful cross-chain flows on Base helped shape the product idea behind fomo, and why he sees mobile trading and social trading as the two core directions for the platform. He said the team wants users to think less about whether funds sit on SOL, ETH, or BNB and more about having a single usable balance. Se Yong added that fomo recently launched Clans, a new social feature that lets users join groups, view holdings, and compete on public leaderboards. Over time, he said, the feature could expand into internal chat, recruiting, subscriptions, shared treasuries, and even public clan addresses for airdrops. On competition, he said rival products are healthy and that fomo’s goal is to grow the overall market rather than protect a narrow slice of existing crypto users.

TRON Eco says Q2 2026 buybacks and burns topped $34.75 million

TRON Eco has released its value-deflation ecosystem report for the second quarter of 2026, saying cumulative buybacks and token burns for the quarter exceeded $34.75 million as four core projects moved in tandem. JST recorded its largest buyback-and-burn to date, with more than 355 million tokens destroyed in a single move worth $34.59 million, a record for the project. The report said JST’s cumulative burn has reached 17.29% of its initial maximum supply, with total cumulative value above $94.62 million. SUN completed its 51st buyback-and-burn round, destroying more than 9.02 million SUN during the quarter and lifting cumulative burns past 678 million tokens. TRON Eco also said BTT and WIN have upgraded their mechanisms: BTT will use all revenue from its decentralized business for buybacks, while WIN will allocate all oracle service revenue to buybacks. The new arrangements are set to become routine from the third quarter, bringing all four projects into what TRON Eco described as a sustainable deflation framework.

Aptos turns THNI positive after fee hike and reward cuts, report says

Aptos has moved from a chain where token holders were effectively subsidizing the network to one of the few mainstream general-purpose Layer 1 blockchains generating positive net income for holders, according to a report cited by TechFlowPost. The shift is measured through Token Holder Net Income, or THNI, which tracks network revenue minus payments to validators while treating staking rewards as an internal transfer among token holders rather than an expense. The report says Aptos crossed into positive THNI in May 2026 and has stayed there since, while Ethereum, Solana, and Sui remained in negative territory over the same period. The inflection followed a series of protocol-level changes between Feb. 19 and March 19: a 10x increase in gas prices, a halving of staking rewards to a fixed 2.6%, a hard cap of 2.1 billion tokens on total supply, and the permanent lockup of 210 million tokens. The same piece also reviewed broader market moves. Crypto equities outperformed, largely on Circle’s strength following its Aug. 5 second-quarter results and two forward-looking catalysts: the planned Sept. 16 launch of Arc mainnet and federal approval for Circle National Trust.

TRON Stablecoin Holdings Hit $92.17B, USDT Circulation Surpasses Ethereum

Techub News reports that, according to OnchainLens data, TRON's stablecoin holdings have totaled $92.17 billion, ranking second among stablecoin networks after Ethereum and capturing nearly 30% of market share. The network holds $90.72 billion in USDT alone, which exceeds Ethereum's $86.89 billion, making TRON the largest USDT circulation network. Data shows that more than half of all issued USDT now lives on TRON. The network's relatively low transaction fees and faster confirmation speeds have helped it attract stablecoin users and transfer volume, particularly in emerging-market payments and cross-border remittance scenarios. The roughly $1.45 billion difference between TRON's total stablecoin holdings and its USDT balance indicates additional stablecoin assets beyond USDT on the network.
